Hi all,

I realize I haven't sorted this community yet, but I am cutting back my Monsteras this weekend and have a bunch of nodes (some with leaves) to give away. Happy to trade or send out to those who are just starting (with some goodies) for shipping and handling.

Peace.

Will sort out the bells and whistles on there the next few days, but try to format posts similarly. :)

I am slowly building out the sidebar as a resource. Please pass along your knowledge. FOSS tools are best!

I found them on one vine of the Ivy plant that I bought from Ikea about a month ago. It was kept about 2m away from my other plants, so I'm hoping that the little guys haven't had the chance to hop over.

I've also liberally cut off the visibly affected branch and sprayed off the Ivy in the shower, followed by a generous misting with soapy water. The plant will stay quarantined in my kitchen for the next few weeks, hope it recovers :<

My other plants seem fine so far, at least I couldn't find any critters on their leaves when I checked tonight.

A friend recently gave me this plant as a present. So far I have no experience with potted plants, but for now it is doing quite well with plenty of daylight and multiple small doses of water throughout the day. If I knew what kind of plant it was, I could take even better care of it.

This is my hoya sipitangensis, not sure why it chose to flower while I'm re-rooting it but I'm not complaining.

A lot of comments about the smell here haha. This one actually smells pretty faint and just smells like flowers. I have heard some varieties smell bad but so far none of the ones that have bloomed for me have been bad.

Is there such a thing? Some of our plants inevitably grow towards the window quite a bit when I forgot to water them. A very slowly rotating plant stand seems like an obvious solution, but I haven't found any good offerings.

I have no idea why but my foxtail fern has taken off in the last few days. I’ve been having to turn it every day due to the tops always facing towards the window every night.

I have some UV plant lights by my desk that are on often. Recently I started to worry if they are increasing my risk of skin cancer. Is that totally far out or should I try to point them away from where I work ?

I found this what I assume to be tradescantia zebrina last winter as a little stem with three leaves laying on the ground. It has turned into one of my favorite plants over the last year!

Went to a plant show yesterday with no intention to buy. I've had a h. gunung gading (bottom) on my list for so long though and the price was right so here we are... Also there was a carnivorous table so I picked up a sundew (top) to go with my pings that I had at home.

I hope I can keep the cycle going with this pineapple lineage for many generations to come.

I thought it was just another leaf growing, but to my surprise it was a bloom stalk. It lasted less than 24 hours before expiring, and a second opened up. It's always cool to get surprise blooms!

I just noticed this, what should I do? Sorry for the vague question but I can't find any good articles on what this is.

Everything I find starts the same way "top 8 reasons for brown leaves". Then says too much water, not enough water, too much light not enough light too much fertilizer not enough, wrong kind of fertilizer and so on and so on. That isn't helpful! Do I just have to guess? Why is all plant knowledge basically voodoo?

I'm tempted to take a cutting so I have a spare to try again if it all goes wrong, but the plant only has 5 leaves, so I'm stressing out.

I think you're supposed to pinch them off, but they're just too pretty.

Every day I find a few leaves on the ground. I read online that it might be root rot so I have been avoiding giving it water.

I might try to take it out of the pot and remove the bad roots. Does anyone have experience with removing bad roots?

Shipping has closed for the winter so I will not be getting anymore plants this year. Probably for the better... I'll have no space once they all get bigger 😅

Got a couple of my wishlist hoyas (undulata and clemensorium) and some other beautiful plants including some succulents and begonias.
