I had to go to the liquor store last night to buy grain alcohol for a tincture recipe for my wife. I was tempted zero. Not a single thought of drinking. That feels good. I have not had alcohol for 571 days.
Today, I will not be drinking either.

It's been in the 10° Fahrenheit range for a week. That's a big part of it.
I took some time off and now I'm reorganizing my shop. I have a show early February, so I have to get working again.

Each snowflake is different. Solid green wood stain and boiled linseed oil and natural shellac finish.
I think I've discovered a drawback to moving everything outside in the spring. Buying more plants doesn't matter when you don't need to worry where to put them... until fall.
Walnut, cherry and katalox. 5.5 inches by 2.5 inches (13.5 cm x 5.5 cm)
Finished with a polish of boiled linseed oil and shellac.
Spalted maple with a rim of sycamore and walnut. 6 inches by 2.5 inches (15 cm x 7 cm)
Just finished a maple Thanksgiving themed bowl - 10" x 4" (26 cm x 10 cm)
Painted with chalk paint and then aged with colored wax. Inside is finished with Tung oil.

Finished with chalk paint and wax on the outsode, shellac and boiled linseed oil on the inside, this oak bowl with a rim of sycamore and walnut really pissed me off when it flew off the lathe while I was finishing the bottom and it had to be redone.
I'm starting to use some of the walnut blanks I got a few weeks back. This one is almost 14 inches in diameter and has a rim of segmented walnut with inlays of cherry. It's finished with a friction polish of boiled linseed oil and natural shellac.
Sober day. Another day.
