2024 is going to turn into a shit show of people making deep fakes and people accusing other of it, right?

We're in the post-truth era for photos, video and audio now.

Courts generally require testimony backing up the veracity of recordings and photographs - this is where we need to live. If a recording was found to be fake someone is on the hook for giving false testimony.

We need to have a chain of custody based on trust to the original or assume it's a deep fake - this is exceedingly difficult in the modern world because there's very little trust in media outlets and those should be the ones we trust to ensure proper sourcing and the delivery of facts.

Well, trust isn’t profitable. But emotion is.

That’s why it do be the way that it is. It's a stupid fucking reason, but it is, nonetheless, the reason.
