I agree, take breaks when ever you can but I don't think spending any spare time you find at work on a screen would be my definition of living mindfully.

And working with food, I'd appreciate things being kept clean. Don't wanna get people sick.

I worked in food for 5 years, trust me everything in the building can be cleaned way faster than most people would believe and often times is fully cleaned multiple times in the day.

The goal is to look busy most of the time.

We kept the place clean as an operating room between rushes, and then while waiting for the rush to start after cleaning was done we'd wipe down random stuff and throw stuff in the sink for the boss to find so he could have a designated thing to bitch about.

That's not what this is about at all. I think it's a huge reach to assume this meme was referring to not cleaning food prep areas. This is referring to shitty middle managers that do not care what work is being done so long as no body is allowed rest at any point in their shift.

Worked in a smoothie shop where the boss preached this incessantly.

We all went in the back and sat down whenever he left.

I spent 4 hours in the fridge one day working at Walmart. And only maybe 2 of those hours were spent crying.

Only 2‽ That's impressive

Jokes aside I worked in fast food for 3 years, the freezer was for venting. Crying, screaming, throwing things, etc. You couldn't hear shit coming out of that cold coffin. The fridge you could still hear some stuff, but the freezer was like as quiet as a crypt.

I misread this as being the other way around and was really confused when I read the rest of it... what has our world come to, where my brain expected a negative statement like that?

On the rig my usual reply is "Well Push, if you got time to bitch you got time to suck dick." as I start unzipping my covies.

Upper management on oil rigs, main supervisor is a tool pusher during days and a tour pusher during night, when they say if you got time to lean you got time to lean thats the joke I reply with, covies are coveralls.

I was going to say "covies" sounds so babyish but then remembered at work we all call them "bibs" 😂
