Not really. He’s been piloting it into a steep dive for awhile now.

Let's give him another 50 cool billion, surely that will motivate him to take it all the way to Mars, baby!

Mars was a year away in what, 2019? At this point I've lost track of all the things he can do now, or that's just a year away, yet still somehow hasn't materialised. It's almost like he's an immoral, fraudulent grifter. Makes sense he'd endorse another of his kind. Birds of a feather, xitter together.

He cares for Tesla about as much as he cares for his 18 children

[–] artichokecustard@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

excuse me, my parents said that it was gavin newsom who broke up his family☝️

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

and is this gavin newsom currently in the room with us...?

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 36 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fuck musk, fuck trump, fuck tsla.

[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

Can we add fuck Nestle to that list?

[–] vatlark@lemmy.world 30 points 1 month ago

Tesla's future is not the one I'm worried about.

[–] Stern@lemmy.world 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Imagine donating to the guy who wants to cripple your business. Then again Elon got his bag so...

[–] ocassionallyaduck@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It will be slow, and never complete, but Tesla is definitely being damaged by his erratic choices and eventually he will be forced out.

But boy will it take losses.

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I don't know how many people are like me, but I'll never buy a Tesla out of principle. I will not support fascist adjacent assholes.

[–] 6gybf@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Once you start looking into the products you buy, you may find it’s harder to do than you’d hope. This guy is just more incompetent at keeping quiet about it than most.

That's where I am at now. The whole "There is no such thing as ethical consumption under capitalism" thing really eats at you. But I still know I won't buy a Tesla for a host of reasons.

[–] DogWater@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

That, and they are sucky cars. Build quality is ass, they hide features behind DLC, they are designed to be tech bro minimalist to a fault, and sales are collapsing right now for Tesla.

45 million a month I'm sure he's going to be fine. Unless you think Trump's the kind of guy who's so principled he won't carve out exceptions for his rich friends. But if you think that I don't know where the fuck you were for four years

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago

You really think Donald Trump would do that? Just betray a supporter the second it's convenient? /s

[–] Bookmeat@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

He should probably be paying that in fucking taxes.

[–] myusernameis@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 month ago

But it worked out so well for MyPillow...

[–] tills13@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I unfortunately bought in a few years ago when he was not so fucking crazy. My next car is going to be a Rivian R3X. That thing is fire and I'm happy I don't know a damn thing about RJ Scaringe.

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I sold mine and switched back to ICE. Maybe I was able to prevent one more new purchase.

[–] tills13@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Why switch back to ice? There are so many other compelling alternatives, now.

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Mainly range anxiety, my car was supposed to get about 300 miles a charge, but consistently got much less.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee -2 points 1 month ago

As an Uber driver I can’t wait to buy an ICE car. My electric rental loses me about two hours of income per day.

If the convicted felon really cares about Elon, he should do the right thing: keep the money and drop out of the race.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

It doesn't matter. He personally has enough money to live a thousand lifetimes in unbelievable luxury, and he doesn't care about anyone else. He could lose 99% of all his money and still have $1,760,000,000.00. People truly do not grasp the ridiculousness of his wealth, because it is an unknowable number.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Too bad that walking thumb is ruining the good name of Tesla.

[–] MTK@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Elon is basically playing Russian roulette but he is the only player
