You're welcome and I didn't make the connection at first either, I doubt a lot of us newer people have.

Well, Yes but not here. The fediverse doesn't have to follow the same domain extension standards people are used to with websites hosted on centralized servers in various countries. Spin up an instance of your own and you can choose whatever extension you want and they chose one as shorthand for Marxist-Leninist. They're not shy about it, Dessalines even has essays on communism hosted on their github.

They were on lemmy.ml from the start. Take a guess at what the "ml" stands for.

There's no need for arbitrary rules just because it grinds someone's gears.

It actually makes my day every time I see someone share a photo of their screen; kind of a wholesome reminder of simpler times. It hasn't been an issue of visibility with the majority of the DF content they're trying to share that I've seen. People just like piling on with "ermahgerd you took a photo pf your screen".

Only time I've seen screen photos being an actual issue is people taking a picture of a snippet of code and asking why it doesn't work with no other information provided about the problem they're having.

Yeah it was bothering me too but just to make people aware, someone else has reported it #47 and #152 a pr is waiting to be merged that looks to fix both issues..
