“Questioning Mr. Kennedy’s health is a hilarious suggestion, given his competition.”

Pretty sure questioning his health is vitally important, especially given his competition:

  • Hole in brain from either a tumor a parasite (sounds like they’re not sure)
  • history of long- and short-term memory problems
  • neurological disorder affecting his speech
  • unwillingness to disclose medical records
  • an “irregular heartbeat caused by a common heart abnormality that can cause strokes”…

How is he any better than the other two?

It's kind of crazy that the one out of the three that is most cognitively sound is the oldest and is nicknamed dementia Joe.

[–] otp@sh.itjust.works 17 points 5 months ago (1 children)

is nicknamed dementia Joe

You say that as if normal people call him that. Like The King instead of Elvis.

I'd be willing to bet it's something that Donald Trump or the like made up. And he's got plenty of names of his own...is it Diaper Donnie now?

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

You're not wrong. But I've found that those obnoxious people do leave an impression on others. A lot people think of Biden that way even if they're not calling him that.

Hate and stupidity are a vicious cycle.

[–] sin_free_for_00_days@sopuli.xyz 11 points 5 months ago

Well, he's got some mental issues, but at least he's not unqualified under the 14th amendment for supporting an insurrection.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent presidential candidate who has marketed himself to voters as a younger, healthier alternative

The 70-year-old

Such youth.

Greetings, fellow kids.

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 5 points 5 months ago

Relatively.

[–] OldWoodFrame@lemm.ee 3 points 5 months ago

I'm not a medical expert but I feel like a 70 year old with a literal hole in his brain experiencing memory loss and at a higher than typical risk of stroke due to a heart condition...hits all the risks we're concerned about with the 77 year old and 81 year old.

Like it's not literally the age we're worried about, it's the memory issues and likelihood of dying that comes with it.

This is for the "vaccines cause autism" crowd

[–] JaymesRS@literature.cafe 53 points 5 months ago

It was discovered apparently when he went in for mercury poisoning from eating too much tuna. Mercury poisoning… in an anti-vaxxer… who has cited mercury as a reason to avoid vaccines…

The worm died from starvation

[–] tate@lemmy.sdf.org 32 points 5 months ago (2 children)

HaHaHAH ha... huh?

This timeline. I can't take much more.

[–] 4grams@awful.systems 11 points 5 months ago

I know, right. I honestly do not believe in reality anymore. This shit is too fucked up.

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

In 2016 Glen Beck said "Obama made me a better person" and it was at that moment I knew my world no longer made sense.

And still only the second-worst candidate in the race.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 18 points 5 months ago

I can see why Trump's people are worried he might take votes away from Trump.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 9 points 5 months ago (2 children)

So consider that having a brain worm means that you can still run for president.

Which means there is a non-zero amount of brain that you can have lost to brain worms:

What is that non-zero amount?

[–] Semi-Hemi-Demigod@kbin.social 16 points 5 months ago

As we learned from Futurama it's the body that runs for president, not the head.

[–] fiat_lux@kbin.social 9 points 5 months ago (2 children)

There's a person who has been living a mostly normal life with 90% of his brain missing. Perhaps we could just re-examine society's ableism and how we design our systems of government to allow single points of failure instead? RFK Jr. has terrible opinions, but also had them before having a literal brain worm.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

I'm going to count that as a vote for "90% worm brain" is fine.

any other votes?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

I think you missed the part where he also admits he has memory problems because of it.

And that article is paywalled, but it has been reported that in his divorce deposition, he said his ability to earn money was affected by cognitive problems from it. Back in 2012.

It also says he had mercury poisoning (he claims it's from all the fish he ate), which is pretty fucking ironic considering this is the guy who went apeshit over a negligible bit of mercury in vaccines.

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/rfk-jr-claims-doctor-parasite-ate-part-brain/story?id=110027317

I do not think it is ableism to say that someone who reports having significant cognitive problems shouldn't be president.

Had. Poor thing died of starvation.

[–] Apollonius_Cone@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago

That explains a lot.

[–] Pollo_Jack@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago

My girl asks, what if I have a brain worm. I tell her she could run for office.
