Aside from the kiddie porn, a 19 year old deputy? WTF America, this kids barely out of kindergarten, why the fuck is he getting such a position of power?

a 19 year old deputy?
Are you under the impression that deputy is a high rank in the sheriffs department? (It's an entry level position) Or are you saying that someone should only become a cop after they have failed at other professions and are looking to start a new career?
It should require at least a 4-year legal degree, but instead they've got an IQ cap
Boom shakalaka! That would solve so much.
Kind of seems like a natural candidate for an associate's degree tbh.
To me, as a non-US person, it sounds like second in command to the sheriff. That said, 18 is still very young for a police officer, in my opinion.
Dude.
Would you like to be operated on by a 19-year old doctor?
No?
Why not?
Because it takes years to learn the relevant skills and responsibilities?
Yeah. In my country even thr the lowest level police officer goes through what is equivalent to a university degree. (Third level education.)
And despite that, there's still problems. Not the same problems, but still.
In America the "training" to become a police officer is often less than the basic training that we give for conscripts in the army on the use of force and responsibilities of wielding authority.
I'm under the impression that I wouldn't want a 19 year old to be responsible for upholding the law without knowing the law, especially while armed.
What kind of idiotic choices are those?
Feels like you intentionally made yourself look like an idiot here to prove a point.
Good job.
Should entry level police positions require a minimum age of 35 or something? I'm pretty sure whatever country you are from the minimum age for a police officer are similar.
Normally one has to be 21 since that is the legal age to own a handgun, and have 30-60 credit hours at an accredited college/university to even apply.
How a 19 year old was accepted is beyond me.
There's always someone like this.
I knew a guy in fire academy who graduated, got hammered in the district, got pulled over, DUI. Same day.
Told the cop he "knew the fire chief" (read: he was vaguely known by the chief in an administrative way and a handshake at graduation)
Cop said "oh cool me too let's go see him"
Off to the station, it's 1am, chief working night.
Obviously he was toast, never seen again. The gall of some people to think they're "made"
A cop and a child predator? Gonna have a rough time in lockup.
They're calling him an ex-deputy for half a days work as a deputy. Lol
Fuck this guy
"He was telling people, 'I'm going to be law enforcement. I'm very powerful.' He was forcing these girls, they said they were very uncomfortable with the entire circumstance, and it felt like they had no choice, but to do these things, and that is completely unacceptable," Sheriff Flowers said.
What a shit website. It loaded an ad that tries to mimic ebay.
There are a lot of shitty comments here, but personally, I'm glad to see that they actually arrested him, and that he will face justice for his actions. A background check isn't going to expose the things you do in secret that you haven't been caught for yet. This is a rare news report where a cop was arrested for breaking the law instead of being protected behind some thin blue line crap.
Florida, working hard to be the worst place in North America.
It doesn’t have even have to try.
It does not, and yet it continues for some reason.
Doesn't he know you're supposed to wait until you're off probation to do stupid shit so the union will protect you?
It was da libruls! Dem libruls done planted them porno-graphic pictures on my phone AND computer! On account that they hate 'Murica and all that!
Sounds like they need better background checks
Holy shit that website I can't close the cookie prompt
