But how goods the economy!

[–] NounsAndWords@lemmy.world 32 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It's great! We have so many jobs! Look at how many that guy has, he must love jobs!

[–] owen@lemmy.ca 9 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Lol! And now I’m wondering how people with multiple jobs are noted in national job/employment numbers…

[–] aBundleOfFerrets@sh.itjust.works 5 points 9 months ago

The year is 2037, 97% of Americans live below the poverty line, yet employment is at an all time high with 273% having a full time job

This is 100% the argument that's going to get Trump reelected. Democratic partisans can't seem to grasp that it doesn't matter how the economy is doing if it's not working for the poor and middle class.

[–] AliasAKA@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I mean voting Republican is about the only thing that would make it worse for the poor and middle class. Voters who vote for them expecting it to be better are, let’s say it nicely, not very well informed.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

I wouldn't argue that the Republicans are any better, but the problem here is the poor and working class are seeing their lot reduced no matter who they vote for, so it gets difficult to argue that one is better than the other from their perspective.

When looking at Biden and Trump, they don't see a fascist or non-fascist, they just see change.

$9k median price for a Super Bowl ticket… what a fucking ripoff lmao.

I'm struggling to think of anything I'd pay $9000 to sit in bleachers and watch.

A Republican Battle Royale is all that comes to mind

Uh... Not bad...

Something I was wishing it would happen but didn't that I would pay to watch and also bet on it would be the fight between Musk and Zuck and if you add Bezos on top of that man...

[–] derpgon@programming.dev 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

A good ol' public execution would be satisfactory.

[–] Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Have you considered therapy my dude?

[–] derpgon@programming.dev 1 points 9 months ago

I'll consider it when those unhinged Republicans will.

Carlin supported this, good enough for me. At ~1 minute. https://youtu.be/dCLAugRyeMk?si=TWcxlL7zmQQNszX1

Sydney Sweeney jumping topless on a trampoline?

[–] Stretch2m@lemm.ee 5 points 9 months ago

I like the cut of your jib, SatansMaggotyCumFart.

[–] Evotech@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

I'd still prefer a tv at home for that

[–] XTornado@lemmy.ml 5 points 9 months ago

Yeah man.... And some were complaining about the Taylor Swift prices, this in comparison makes them cheap.

[–] LarmyOfLone@lemm.ee 6 points 9 months ago

This sounds like it could be part of that story where Bane occupies NYC. "Oh you spend 9k on superbowl tickets and you think you're not my enemy?"

[–] scoobford@lemmy.zip -4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I call bullshit. Event bartending is creepy and abusive and horrible for many reasons, but it is very profitable.

Source: Am bartender.

[–] Lemonparty@lemm.ee 15 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Have you never ordered a beer at a stadium? They aren't bartenders, they're just counter employees.
