Yes, because when I'm relaxing at the end of the day I NEED those hydrating electrolytes!!! White Claw: IT'S GOT WHAT PLANTS CRAVE!!!

Idiocracy was a utopia compared to what we're in store for. They had health care, an environment that wasn't actively killing them, and a president that actually wanted to solve problems.

[–] EdibleFriend@lemmy.world 20 points 10 months ago

......I really hate how you put this in perspective.

[–] OpenStars@startrek.website 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I dunno, their environment could have been as bad as ours, and Biden perhaps "wants" to solve things but... Congress is what passes laws (same as that one - he asked people to do things and it was like talking to a brick wall, the difference being that bc it is a Hollywood movie, it was constrained to HAVE to show a good outcome). Good point about the healthcare - I forgot if it was socialized or for-profit in the show.

As another reply brought up though:

Slowly?

Good point, it's like we are doing a speed-run at this point... good grief! :-(

I guess there really was/will be a time machine somewhere.

That documentary got here somehow, after all.

[–] Tremble@sh.itjust.works 31 points 10 months ago (3 children)

I know it seems dumb but you could have this at a party as a non alcoholic option, and still “feel” like you are imbibing with the others. If you like the white claw flavors I guess.

Best I can do is let you smell this peach while you chug some soda water.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I prefer 'hint of hint of lime', or 'the delivery truck drove past a strawberry' flavors.

[–] Apeman42@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

"Kiwi with low battery" for me.

[–] Naja_Kaouthia@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Ghost of a Strawberry is my favorite.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

I don't like peach

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Bubly is superior to LaCroix.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

The only good thing about Būbly is that it's pronounced "boobily."

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I think even better, with the electrolytes, is something you switch to between every few drinks if you're drinking heavily. It should reduce your hangover and you still get to appear and taste like you're drinking a white claw for whatever reason.

[–] asteriskeverything@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I drink mindlessly and really fast so sometimes when I'm have vodka sodas(flavored seltzers) I'll skip the vodka for a round and my brain could not tell the difference. I can only imagine this working (and being beneficial) for seltzer since it's the only one that hydrates and isn't adding more sugar.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 7 points 10 months ago

If you give a shit what other people think, order/make a tonic water with lime juice. Refreshing, and you won't have drunk people pestering you to have a "real" drink with them all night...

[–] takeda@lemmy.world 29 points 10 months ago (3 children)

If it has 15 calories it can't be just water. Maybe they removed alcohol, but it looks like everything else (possibly additional stuff to maintain similar taste was added) was kept.

[–] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

Sugar. It’s gonna be sugar.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I was drinking Liquid Death for a while because I really liked their Mango Chainsaw seltzer and then one day I looked at the ingredients and found out why. They put agave nectar in it to sweeten it. They're doing similar things here.

[–] XTornado@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

What you expected to be there?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

No sweetener at all like the other seltzers.

[–] WashedOver@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago

I've never had one. I know it says white claw but which animal's claw is white does it taste like? I'm not a animalogist so they might be expecting a little too much from me as a potential consumer.

Do they squeeze the juice out of each claw or do they just blend them all together like animal bones in pet food?

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 28 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

White Claw, the thirst mutilator: It's got electrolytes! It's what plants crave!

[–] tsonfeir@lemm.ee 17 points 10 months ago

It’s what douchebags crave.

[–] joyjoy@lemm.ee 17 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago (1 children)

No, it's non-alcoholic White Claw. Which is better than seltzer, somehow, so it's more expensive.

[–] effward@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It's 15 calories "better" than seltzer.

Seems like a weird move. The soda water/seltzer market has gotten crowded in the last few years.

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I think they're trying to appeal to the non-alcoholic beer crowd, which is having its moment.

[–] effward@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Right, but non-alcoholic beer is good, because it tastes like hoppy goodness without the alcohol or calories.

Whereas white claw does not taste good, and this has more calories than many (better) seltzers (which already don't have alcohol). So it seems like a weird move.

I assume they are just banking on their name recognition generating some sales, but I hope people go for some of the better options from smaller companies!

[–] Edgarallenpwn@midwest.social 12 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Can't wait to buy white claw branded flavoring for my soda stream

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Makes non-alcoholic White Claw from SodaStream'd water and syrup

Adds alcohol

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Now you're making me wonder about the potential of non-alcoholic White Claw as a mixer.

[–] Uranium3006@kbin.social 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I like to add vodka to it and call it "normal white claw"

[–] ArcaneSlime@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 10 months ago

Honestly that'd be "white claw +"

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 9 points 10 months ago

I’m not buying some shit product without a picture of Mr Beast on it so I know it’s not a grift.

[–] MsPenguinette@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I know so so many people who have gone Cali sober, including myself. It's a particularly silly brand to see try to have a NA option but I'm also not suprised to see it based on my own anecdotal experiences of the market

[–] Uranium3006@kbin.social 6 points 10 months ago

weed's better anyways

[–] kSPvhmTOlwvMd7Y7E@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago (2 children)

But look at those colours!! Inno-fucking-vation!

[–] MaxVoltage@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

someone wake up Gorbachev

[–] platypus_plumba@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

It's so people can be in a social context without others asking them to drink constantly. It's not innovation but it isn't a useless product. It has a real world purpose.

[–] Lightrider@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 10 months ago

Fuckingcapitalists

[–] Prethoryn@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Guys,

It's a fucking can of liquid. Smartwater is doing the same thing with water. Are you really that fucking surprised that you think capitalism is surprising for a popular drinks among young people, which might I add you is actually good and better than drinking other shit people drink out of a can. I am talking about beer drinkers from a can.

If this is another option for someone not to drink then give it to them. The rest of you need to find something better to do with your lives.
