At first I thought "weird is such a tame insult.". But I'm loving how much it bothers them.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 74 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Funny how "weird" bothers them more than, say, "rapist".

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 26 points 1 week ago

Oof great point

[–] usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 week ago

Tells you how they value conformity above all else

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Well they only think one of those is bad

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)
[–] niucllos@lemm.ee 9 points 1 week ago

Pretty weird tbh

[–] arin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

The fact is funny, Trump is horrifying.

[–] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

Rape is normalized if you are married, or would be married soon, or it doesn't count due to other party's low social standing or\and lack of agency, or you just scream and threaten louder than them when it is decided.

I used to be fine with being weird but now that they've taken over the term I cannot identify that way anymore.

[–] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Try being strange instead?

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 1 points 5 days ago

to be honest I kind of feel like "strange" has negative connotations whereas weird has been normalized.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee -1 points 1 week ago

Then you're missing the point.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah, be cool with it. I’m weird, but I’m good weird, these people though they’re bad weird. By being comfortable with weirdness in ourselves we block the nou response

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 1 points 5 days ago

nah, you're right for two reasons:

  1. there can be multiple kinds of weird
    B) they don't self-identify as weird as we do
[–] zcd@lemmy.ca 58 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Is it normal to announce that you're not weird?

[–] KingGordon@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago

No, it’s weird.

[–] simplejack@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Only after rambling about eating pets and South Park style abortions of children who have already been born.

[–] ArtVandelay@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Reminds me of the old Monty Python sketch with the pilots. "Attention ladies and gentlemen, the wings are not on fire."

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 50 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I love how much it bothers them. Don’t they understand that their protests are keeping it alive?

[–] Protoknuckles@lemmy.world 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, no. Absolutely not. They have no self awareness.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 15 points 1 week ago

Ha! You’re right. They wouldn’t be nearly as ridiculous if they did.

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Weird. Its something ive never been called"- says person complaining that people are calling him weird

The more you come out and say you're not weird, the more weird you are

[–] MummifiedClient5000@feddit.dk 31 points 1 week ago

"I have never been called weird" is a weird rebuttal when he is litrrally being called weird.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Skin behaves in weird ways when enormous amounts of spray tan is applied over many years

[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can estimate his age by counting the layers

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is that trumpidendrochronology?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes, they have to take a core sample from his face.

[–] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

It's hollow.

[–] ohellidk@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Eventually, it soaks into the face, then the brain. It really explains a lot.

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 28 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Why is it that every time i read a trump quote i get a mindfuck. Hes so bad at talking.

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

It makes me lose even more respect for his moron voters.

[–] finley@lemm.ee 14 points 1 week ago

Because you are sane

[–] gencha@lemm.ee 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Every time I read a Trump quote, I wonder if there is any chance left that it's fake

[–] Big_Boss_77@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 1 week ago

Isn't that wild? If I'm being honest, I have to do double take and figure out if it's bullshit or not...

[–] Mariemarion@lemm.ee 7 points 1 week ago

That's because he's bad at thinking.

[–] N0body@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 1 week ago (3 children)

No weird. No weird. You're the weird.

Anyway, they're eating the cats in Ohio, folks. They're EATING the CATS!

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

I saw it on television!

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Ok I really want a patch that says “Ohio eats pussy” now

[–] PixeIOrange@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

AND they ALSO eat the DOGS! And also they EAT the PETS! THIS is what is HAPPENING in the COUNTRY!

I think im going insane slowly...

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Complains about being called weird, and then immediately says he's never been called weird...

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

That's weird...

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

"We're very solid people, not liquids at all!"

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Part of me hates that one of the most effective anti fascist tactics of the current year is to channel my inner middle school bully. Not my inner middle school bully though, she’s loving getting to call these weirdo freaks the losers they are

[–] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

His worst enemy is a wikipedian with a dozen of tabs to put his own quotes into the article.
