A roast is done with the subject in attendance. And they get a chance to respond. This is just a clan rally under a different name.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 18 points 1 week ago

Spell that with a K, son. KKKlan, not clan.

A roast is a form of comedy in which a specific individual, a guest of honor, is subjected to jokes at their expense, intended to amuse the event's wider audience. Such events are intended to honor a specific individual in a unique way.

You can't roast someone who isn't in attendance, you stupid fuckers.

Load up on rotten eggs and vegetables and pelt the fuckers as they walk in.

The event is scheduled to be hosted by the student chapter of Uncensored America, a nonpartisan organization fighting for freedom of speech, on September 18.** Gavin McInnes**, founder of the Proud Boys, and Milo Yiannopoulos, a right-wing media personality, have been named as the event’s “roastmasters.”

“fighting for freedom of speech” my ass

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

their freedom of speech. I'm sort of open to them making fools of themselves, especially since I can't see this not going full racist mode. Sure, some MAGA will love it, but I don't think it will help the overall purpose like they think it will.

I had to laugh about everything in their description.

Also, you always have to translate wingnut to normalspeak. When they talk about liberty of any kind, they are referring to the Southern type of liberty, not the Northern. Same goes for lots of words they use, they have their own version of what they mean - freedom of speech, patriotism, and so on. Just like the way the Nazis viewed things like "peace" - they meant the apparent peace that would result once all the "undesirables" were murdered by the Nazis and there was no more struggle against fascism. So their version of "peace" meant hell on Earth for virtually everyone, including their own people, because of all the resulting (probably endless) war that their "peace" would require...

Is Gavin McInnes the one who shoved the dildo up himself on stream to prove how straight he was?

[–] mosiacmango@lemm.ee 24 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yup. And Milo is the alt right gay guy that supports pedophila.

He even got cancelled for that on the right, but since even that isn't taboo to the GOP anymore, sounds like they want him back.

[–] PenisDuckCuck9001@lemmynsfw.com 11 points 1 week ago

Uhm. Wow. This sounds made up but it's actually true. Wtf.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Gavin? Why isn't he in prison yet?

[–] Fades@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Milo Yiannopoulos

I thought he was disavowed from the right wing magats, when did his disgusting self return to all this shit

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I think this is it. This is his return. He hopes.

In a joint statement with Thad Westbrook, chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees, Amiridis said the school is “steadfast in safeguarding the First Amendment rights of our students, even when we may be offended by their choices and statements.”

Yeah… so…. When asshole racists who want to bring back slavery do their thing, it’s “we protect their first amendment rights”, but when it’s people being like “genocide is bad”, it’s “antisemitic riots can’t be tolerated”?

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

and if someone came there speaking against Trump, there’d be bomb threats, and people with tiki torches out front wearing hoods and chanting “they will not replace us”

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Be fair…

That’s just Tuesday night.

Sounds a hell of a lot like Thad is, in the absolute best case, intentionally ignoring the paradox of tolerance. And I’m fairly confident this is not the absolute best case.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 26 points 1 week ago

FUCK NO! LET THEM COOK. Film that shit and mark everyone. If the president of the school allows it, mark the school a terrorist threat. Don't let the Klan hide, kill it off for good.
