Corporations hide crimes all the time, even when they are the victims. If the crime will lose them money in any way, either directly or from a reputation hit, it's very likely a company will not report it.

It only because the employees involved had their NDAs expire and confirmed they saw some very fucked up things that we know what he did.

Twitch fired him publicly when he was one of their biggest streamers. It's fully possible the explicitly sexual messages are a crime, but the parties involved, including the minor victim, did not want it reported.

You can argue amazon should have reported it anyway if it rose to that level, but with none of the involved parties forcing the issue, it makes sense from a buisness stance not to.

Vance posted the lie days before Trump lost his damn mind in the debate.

It might have been both of them, but Vance was way out front of it.

The context makes this statement different.

The above is the victim's mother, who begged her not to marry her murderer. She says this after stating she found divorce papers in her daughter car after her death, which led her to believe he killed her because she was planning on leaving him.

The above is a statement trying to help women to avoid brutal men to begin with, not blaming them for being victims. It's saying "if he does this kind of shit, don't put up with it like my daughter did. Get out immediately."

At no point in her excuses did she say she was joking. She said she is gay and a POC, that she is scared of the consequences of her actions, and that if she was Haitian she would be upset.

She actually never even says she was sorry, just weasel words like "it just exploded" and "this was not my intent" and "was never meant to be seen outside of Springfield."

She minimizes, back tracks and redirects blame, but never once says the words "I'm sorry" or "it was a joke that got out of hand."

Those are the actions of a bigot running away from consequences, not a person who made an earnest mistake and is remorseful.

The judge gave her drastically under the minimum recommendation sentence because she thought it was too harsh for the circumstances:

explaining her sentencing decision, Chu said the case was unusual, and that Potter made a "tragic mistake" of thinking that she drew her taser instead of her firearm while in a chaotic situation.[11][140] Chu expressed that it was "one of the saddest cases I’ve had on my 20 years on the bench".[141]

I think they reduced it from 10 years to 2 years. The 16 months was parole.

Personally I think she should have served the 10 years. Her and her partner pulled him over for having an air freshener on his rearview mirror and he got upset. When she and her partner were handcuffing him, she yelled "Taser! Taser!" And instead pulled her actual gun and fired it into his chest. She murdered that young man, a father, because she was an idiot.

The most egregious part? She was a police trainer. She literally trained cops about policy and process, and still fucked it up. She was actually training the cop with her at the time when she murdered Wright.

Read her comment. There were no jokes in it.

You can be a gay person of color and a bigot at the same time. It's pretty stupid, but it happens.

Shes Jewish. Unsurprisingly, she uses her heritage to be a convenient antisemite when it suits her.

Punk fights bigotry, they speak truth to power, they help all comers, they put their lives and all that they have on the line for freedom and they break through social norms to live full lives.

Who the fuck in MAGA is doing that? They are bigots shouting lies and hate, trying to force rigid social norms, restrict other peoples freedoms, taking and hoard everything they can. They are raving mad mini thatchers, ripping milk out children's hands while trying to start a race war. What the fuck is punk in that?

Punk is intense, high energy and rebellious. It has a unique freedom around it, as you take ownership of your life. The community is accepting and mutual aid is common. It speaks truth to power with no regard for consequences.

They like the vibe of all of those things, but don't want to give up bigotry and accept all people, help others, put themselves and what they have on the line, or stand up to authority to get there.

So they just pose as the "new" punk while living none of it.

Mocking fascists is wildly effective. They have to portray themselves as strong and serious to make headway. Their rhethoric is immune to facts as its based on feeling, a sense of being virtuous and powerful. Kneecapping that "vibe" completely unarms them.

It's why calling them "weird" was so effective. It rattles their core image, and reframes their message from "we are powerful warriors fighting evil" to "we are strange mothefuckers saying and doing weird ass things all day long."

You don't beat fascists with facts because none of them care about facts. You break their rhetoric with mockery or death.

For those not swept up in his movement, the facts and clear defense of the Haitian immigrants that is occurring are the best tools, and they are being used.

I don't have plasterboard walls. They are lath and plaster.. The studs and framing are beautiful old hardwood.

It's a sturdy and lovely old house that has stood the test of time. It's one of the millions in the states that I was talking about.

There are 100 year old houses in America made of fine timber or brick that look better than this and will last longer.

It's a big country. Modern construction is rarely built to last, but there are millions of homes here that would fit your description without issue.
