Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Why would they do that if climate change isn't real?

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 39 points 5 months ago

Because democrats are addicted to crime!!!111

[–] Spitzspot@lemmings.world 46 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Wage theft is the bigger problem.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 16 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I doubt there are very many politicians that consider wage theft to be a problem at all.

[–] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Especially since their candidate committed it against all those polish immigrants to build one of his towers.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Oh, I'm not going to limit it to one party on this.

Neither major party has treated wage theft like the problem it is. I doubt either ever will

[–] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

That's fair, and I'm sure many of those politicians in both parties have committed it as well. However the subject of the article has committed vast amounts of it. I think that's worth mentioning. He's the subject of the article after all.

Once you have the air conditioner who can afford the electricity to run it?

[–] raynethackery@lemmy.world 18 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Look, I already sold one kidney a few years ago.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Sell someone else's kidney

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 22 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Do you know how much a bathtub full of ice costs these days?

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 14 points 5 months ago (1 children)

But if you got an air conditioner the ice lasts longer

…and GOP voters in general are reporting they are more likely to support electing people convicted of felonies after Trump’s conviction [unless they’re brown, Muslim, atheist, democrat or gay].

Fixed that for you!

I purchased a AC unit at Costco the other day. I didn't see anyone else even in that aisle.

They’re that good at being sneaky

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

No joke I worked at a Walmart in the early 90s and they caught a lady stealing a microwaves by holding it between her thighs under her dress. She was a large lady. I’m pretty sure I heard she only got caught because she had done it like twice before and she kept returning them for money.

Oh it's a 40k joke. Purple means sneaky in orc culture.

Example:

Solar panels are next. Then I dk food like good old days.

This kind of stuff is annoying. Acting like they are stealing big screen tvs or advance pcs. People literally die from heat and GOP removes laws to reduce it. Go do better things. Like start a federal fund to subsidize AC units or mandating solar panels on AC units. yes, I know not realistic but operation light speed it jerks.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

See, your problem is that you’re taking his statement at face value. He just makes shit up all the time; he made this up.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 1 points 5 months ago

Lol that makes it worst. I made up stuff and provided no humane solution.
