This is the best and when i say the best i mean the bet file manager you can have on android . Like it has everything a good file manager should have and is really stable . I don't think i have ever been more impressed by a piece of software or promoted it as much as i do this . All i am saying is it is the peak for android it has various compression/extract options built in can work with root , have a text editor . Etc. Etc . No file manager i have used ever has even came close .

  • If any app ( regardless of the platform they are in ) you know of that is fully FOSS and doesn't have any ads , tracking or any other anti features that didn't make the list it is a mistake and you can dm me and i will add it. The same goes for apps that are not really FOSS or have anti features , Even though i have tried my best some mistakes could've been made or if the newer updates of one of the apps listed made it unworthy to be included in the list , the platform it listed on isn't available for it or the link is broken you can dm me and i will remove/fix it.

There was an update all button before this, but it takes me here. Any way to then not click on all of them?

Virtual keyboard for writing expressive messages in various text styles.

With Irregular Expressions custom virtual keyboard you can add expressive flair to your text messages, tweets, facebook posts, and everywhere else where text styling is not usually allowed. This keyboard features 30+ different styles, such as:

β€” π•²π–”π–™π–π–Žπ–ˆ / 𝕺𝖑𝖉 π•°π–“π–Œπ–‘π–Žπ–˜π– β€” sα΄α΄€ΚŸΚŸ α΄„α΄€α΄˜s β€” uʍop ǝpᴉsdn β€” π“ˆπ’Έπ“‡π’Ύπ“…π“‰

... and many more! Note some characters are not supported by older Android versions. Android Oreo (8.0) or higher is required for full selection of styles.

Keep small scale open source alive. F-Droid ftw! And consider to donate to Daniel as developer of XMPP software. See also :

Here is some important context you need to understand Quicksy:

Β· It’s not successful at all. The user count has stagnated at just under 1,500 for years.

Β· It’s very expensive to run. While Quicksy doesn’t have that many users it has a good amount of registrations. Sending SMS is really expensive. There are months in which I’m paying ~100 Euro for server cost + SMS. I receive a few donations that reference Quicksy alongside Conversations but nothing close to 100 Euro / month.

It's just me or no music player can correctly sort albums by date? I do tag my music using Picard and I had luck just with VLC in that sense (which is ok but I don't love it for music) but all other apps sucks with this.

Since a week ago tried to install Jerboa, Voyager and Unciv; all failed. Using f-droid 1.18.0.

Installing Voyager or Jerboa from playstore works fine.

Is it muy phone or there is an issue in "i do not know"?

Thanks.

It was excluded from the exodus due to it catering towards disabled people. It also it shows no add but you have to agree to reddits terms and use before using it . I my self am done with reddit and been like that for a long time but if anyone wants to lurk or use reddit i will reccomend this app with a vpn you trust.

Version 1.19 of F-Droid finally introduces support for the API introduced in Android 12, as spotted by Mishaal Rahman on X. This makes it possible to install updates fully in the background, without any user interaction required. Naturally, this only works for apps originally installed via F-Droid. With this change in place, F-Droid can be an even more viable alternative to the Play Store and other pre-installed apps for people who want to rely on the best open source Android apps.

In the past, F-Droid had to rely on a helper app with root access to install updates in the background without disturbing the user, the F-Droid Privileged Extension. With the app now using the unattended updates API, this is no longer necessary.

It's a downhill skating game where there are obstacles , and hurdles you have to jump through . Also it let's you do multiple black flips . I thought i should do a little promoting for it here because i haven't seen it get much love anywhere . If you want a simple but enjoyable game with good music and great visuals which are calming and pleasent do check it out.

Hi. I wanted to replace my stock SMS app and was wondering which app is likely more suitable for use. Fossify is receiving more development and is more light weight yet most people that I've seen recommend QKSMS as it has more features. Any opinions? Thanks.

I came across this as I needed to install some proprietary app to view a .pkpass file and I discovered this FOSS app instead that does the job and doesnt share the data with any third parties.

Anyway I'm just spreading the word.

The text below is copied from fdroid.

"Displays Passbook (*.pkpass) files & shows the Barcode (QR, PDF417 and AZTEC format). It can be used also when offline.

This app is a viewer for passes - a pass could be a e.g. boarding-pass for your next flight, a coupon for a nice hot beverage on the destination, a movie ticket, a membership card - there are a lot of possibilities. Basically it is a replacement for a piece of paper or plastic you would normally have to carry with you - so lets save some trees and reduce waste!

How does it work?

There are so called espass or pkpass files - you can open them with this app - e.g. when you receive them via email or get an Download-option. The most important content is the BarCode ( QR , AZTEC & PDF417which authorizes you most of the time - but it also has other interesting content like a description - often a time ( that you now can add to your calendar ) - often also locations ( to give you directions ) - just try It out! The app is offline usable once you downloaded the pass!"

I definetly recommend it. It also has many more settings , features than newpipe . It is in the main repo . Just search pipepipe .

Is there some app that takes multiple images and generates QR code, and of course that it can also do reverse so you can scan QR code and view images.

QR code should contain images, not link to images.

Hi! Is there any way to set up TC to use private DNS? alternatively, is there any other tracking filtering app compatible with private DNS?

I would like to recommend Vector Pinball to anyone with even a passing interest in video pinball or video games.

I find this game to be very impressive, even more so as a free app on F-droid. I need to send this dev some cash, I have probably put >200 hours into this game and I am really enjoying it.

Things I like:
Physics are perfect.
8 boards
Each board plays very uniquely.
Great depth of play, the boards are complex and take some work to unlock/see everything.
Addictive.
Some boards are very difficult.
Unique look with vector graphics. Reminds me of Tron.
Pretty good music.

Things I don't like:
My phone doesn't have pinball buttons. Doing that on the screen is a bit awkward. Workable but awkward.
The ball can pass between your flippers with no chance to hit it. Often normal for pinball, this always annoys me. I think I should always have some chance to hit and save the ball.
Show me my score and high scores as soon as I finish a game. I should not have to press a button or wait for the scrolling to see these.

9/10

Some people were asking for a private SMS app, and I thought about Silence, which development had stopped, but there appears to be something new : https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.afkanerd.deku/
