I have "hide NSFW content" turned on in settings but porn images keep showing up in the random bar. This seems new.

There are a fair number of totally empty magazines created during rexit, with no threads, yet a fair number of subscribers (because the name matches a popular sub from Reddit). I clicked on one this morning, because I saw it in random magazines side bar section. No threads. Created a month ago by a user who hasn't posted a single thread or comment on Kbin.

This is like obvious scammers during a gold rush. Some people just wanted to reserve magazine names with no intention of doing anything helpful. Maybe they just wanted bragging rights by claiming to be a moderator. Maybe they think they can sell control of the magazine later. It doesn't matter to me. I just think an admin should delete these sorts of magazines. Anyone who starts a magazine should at least post a few threads. Absolute 'no effort at all' owners contribute nothing.

I just think Kbin would seem more functional and positive if the magazines that exist actually had some content.

Edit: based on a comment below, it seems that Ernest has a tentative plan in place for this sort of situation, which is great :)

What are microblogs in kbin ? Can a microblog be posted in a profile? Or can a microblog be posted only in a magazine?

What are some of the interesting and popular Kbin magazines ?

In my opinion, Abby from TLOU 2. During the first part of the game, she is portrayed as the bad girl, but when she become the playable character, you understand that she isn't:

-Her father and friends were unnecessarly killed.
-She became pariah from her clan when she saved a member of a rival clan.
-She have been harschly tortured.
-She spared Ellie despite having occasions to kill her for understandable reasons.

I don't get why many players didn't changed their minds at the second part of the game, it's so obvious that the real bad people are Ellie and Joël. Theres no problem about having sympathy for bad guys, but you must keep your critical mind.

And what infuriates me is that people even harassed the voice actress because of what her character did. Come on, guys !

I think it started last week when my posts were not getting any upvotes at all. Then I posted a reddit link into incognito window and yep, my post appears as deleted. Probably because I was promoting kbin.social in some of the subreddits. F**kers. I accumulated 150K comment karma over the last 15 years.

Edit: looks like my account was deleted too. I can still log on with the same name but in an incognito mode, I don't exist on reddit.

According the statistics i did all by myself:

-47% of magazines don't have any thread/publication
-70% of magazines don't have any comments

In essence, what game do you play when you are feeling down, under the weather, or depressed, and what does it do for you?

Mine would be Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. It is one of the first games I have beaten as a kid, and is probably the game I have completed the most amount of times. Everytime I play it, it brings me back to important or comfortable times in my life. It's also one of those games that I just wish I could live in, and everytime I return to this game is liking visiting an old home, or visiting old friends, which I guess is fitting and somewhat comforting given the nature of the game. I grew up with the DX version, but I'll play the original and the Switch remake as well for a slightly different experience. They all have their own way of making the experience feel different or fresh, like the different glitches between the original and the GBC versions, the attention to detail put into the remake, and the feeling of playing the OG version in a Super Gameboy if I'm feeling really old school. It's one of those games where no matter which version I play, it will always take me to a place of comfort.

I'm working on an activism campaign kicking off next week opposing some bad internet bills in the US -- here's the magazine I just set up. Once things get going, we'll be sharing links there including information and actions people can take.

Have there been other activism campaigns on kbin and Lemmy, and if so what to learn from them?

Or, any thoughts on what could make an activism campaign successful here?

Just any psychological biases/effects/conditions/disorders/syndromes or other phenomena that you find interesting.

hey! I am shopping online for new undies because the brands I preferred are a bit uncomfortable now. I have used brands like TomboyX trunks and men’s Pair of Thieves boxer briefs.

TomboyX was okay but pretty pricey. For me it tended to ride up and chafe, and I didn’t like that there is a seam in a weird spot. Over time they haven’t held up very well too, which is disappointing.

Pair of Thieves was fantastic and I loved them! However, I have lost some weight and now they sit uncomfortably. They don’t ride up, but they feel almost loose. I can’t go down sizes because I am already at the smallest size.

Anyone have any suggestions of other brands, or maybe some hacks? I may even try modifying if anyone swears by it. Thanks!!

My pair of Teufel Massive just broke, and they just stopped making this model.
I need a new pair of headphones and have nothing against a upgrade.
My hearing profile is mainly electronic music on various genres, but I have a focus on large massive sounding bass but also crisp highs and nice mids, but not the fake DSP bass modern powered headphones do.
The Teufel Massive did that perfectly for me.

Someone here who can recommend a good pair of headphones that should fit my listening profile. I have nothing against needing a headphone amp for them. But no bluetooth or usb powered ones please.

im 20 for reference. ever since i was a kid, up until hs, we were forced every morning to stand, look at the flag and hold our hearts and say:

i didnt stand a single time because i disagreed with being forced, and i was berated by the teacher in front of everyone, and he threatened to kick me out of class if i ever did it again. i was about 11-12 then, it was 2015.

I've noticed (with the help of family members and my SO) that I've become very negative, cynical and drained lately. Reading about burnout, I find all of the symptoms to be true for myself.

My job requires me to work on a single project full-time, and a couple of small side-projects. The management of the project is very chaotic and I feel more and more inadequate for my position. Priorities constantly change and just looking at the week's schedule in Monday, I can tell the we're not going meet the set goal by Friday. It has been like that for more than a year. It doesn't help that I've become very pessimistic about the main project's future.

Outside of work, I don't have much free time. The little I have, I try to spend with my loved ones. Hobbies and other interests are on the back burner.

As the title implies, I don't have the option of quitting or taking a sabbatical at the moment.

I know kbin is not a replacement for therapy but I was just wondering if anyone has been through this and found anything helpful other that distancing from their current workplace.
