Do you have a specific criticism of the article? Because the person I was replying to does not, and only comments mindlessly on every yogthos post, going so far as to call an official EU website "anti-EU propaganda," which is why I mentioned they should just....block yogthos. They are adding nothing to the forum with copy-pasted non-criticisms.

Having an actual criticism, refutation, or response is a different matter. Though I see that rather than a particular refutation, you yourself just posted a different article without elaborating what about it you wanted to direct our attention to.

I did read it, though, and it was an alright article (though from a Trotskyist website, I do appreciate you attempting to find sources from a socialist perspective). I just don't see what exactly yogthos did wrong by posting this other article. He posts from a wide variety of sources, especially since he kept being told that he only used very left sources.

The thing is...he almost never posts commentary. It's just the article. He didn't offer any opinion or statement on it. Just put the article here. So I'm wondering what's wrong with that, or how it demonstrates any lack of knowledge (which you accused him of) of the situation. he didn't write the article, right?

I have some really exciting news for you. Lemmy developers created this really cool "block" function that allows you to stop seeing posts from a user you don't wish to see, instead of just always complaining in all of their comments sections.

"I decided to forward the domain Itanimulli.com domain to the NSA as a joke ... kind of like a rickroll + shock site. I registered the website years ago precisely because it does spell Illuminati backwards, but didn't really do anything with it for a long time. When I had the idea to forward the domain to the NSA I couldn't pass it up, and couldn't stop laughing ..."

It's a fucking joke some random dude from Utah did bro, it's not proof the NSA is part of the illuminati.

Now if we could circle back to the part of this conversation where you said that you believe there are "space jews" among others that are running the planet. I have a question.

What the fuck?

This is a fucking Bloomberg article. Are you saying that Bloomberg is somehow...Chinese or Russian propaganda????

It's a problem with the theme.

Solar (the theme you're using) and vapor-wave dark (the theme I'm using) are the only two with this issue. The font is there, it's just barely lighter than the drop-down box so it's hard to see. You can still click them though. On vapor-wave dark there's the added bonus that a highlight makes them readable if you hover over them. Solar doesn't have that.

he literally wore a fucking nazi armband demarcating nazis as actual fucking nazis. I think it's pretty fucking safe to call a fascist who wears literal nazi insignias to be an actual fucking nazi. maybe try reading the article before chiming in.

"a newspaper published a picture of him wearing a Nazi swastika on his left arm"

I'm not really great at puzzles, but like, can't you solve any maze by simply sticking to following a wall? Like, always turn left, and eventually you'll get it?

Or is the question more: is it possible for there to be no solution to this particular maze, even given that there is no continuous line connecting A to B in the fog? Because a line from where that A is in the fog to where the letter "e" is in the word "connecting" is already enough to completely block the maze, and you'd die.

It means to go in an unexpected way. Like when a horse bucks, it's moving unpredictably to try to throw the rider. Bucking the trend is to have results that are unforeseen based on previous trends.

Bullshit? Are you fucking kidding me? You seriously so oblivious to the state of things in the US that you don't see the countless cases of cops killing kids and Indigenous people being fucking genocided?

China does not execute juveniles, the minimum age is 18 there as well. Pretty cool that you don't need any fucking sources, you can just say "it's a state secret" while spouting entirely unfounded nonsense about juvenile executions.

Literal laws on America's books don't count because "they're not applied" but when it comes to China their laws don't matter because you have unfounded claims of juvenile executions?

What despicable American exceptionalism, you should be utterly ashamed of yourself.

Edit: nevermind, just blocked that person. Not wasting time engaging with someone that obtuse. Honestly, if I didn't know how dogmatically brain-wormed USians are I would have to assume they were being paid to spout this much garbage.

In the US the death sentence is given out for such innocuous crimes as being Black while walking and living in Indigenous communities so I dunno what you mean.

Anyway, as far as "official death sentences" the US did it 11 times in 2021 and China did it 6, so you're still wrong in thinking China does it more than the US.

The US has executed 365 juvenile offenders, and only raised the minimum age of execution to 18 in 2005

55% of Americans still support the death penalty.

And again, the extrajudicial executions carried out by US police is exceptionally astounding.

Edit: "Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein...Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both"

So nope, you can't call for the overthrow of the US government.

The last residential school didn't close until 1996 actually, because Canada is shit.

the art is behind glass (like in every art museum) it wasn't even harmed, people are getting upset over this for no reason. that's the point though, get media attention for the cause. seemed to be effective this time around
