Bernie should be the benevolent dictator of the Democratic party.

No trust needed.

I've seen an arthritic goat hobbling around in agony.

With nature, you don't generally peacefully breathe out your dying breath, even if there are no predators. You live until life as it is is torturous enough that you no longer live.

There is no alternative to life, and death is compulsory and often painful. We, as humans, are lucky enough to be capable to, at times, make that process quick, and, at times, painless.

Predation is not wrong. The quality of life is what matters - and because of that, death is necessary.

Life offers joy, but can dish out misery just as deeply. If life gives you joy, it lasts as long as it can. If life gives you misery, the depth of it is limited by death.

Yeah. The Democrats really screwed the pooch on that one. He's a solid candidate, and has stood on his moral stance from before the Democrats recognized the issues that are now popular.

Sorely needed, sorely missed.

Sovereignty is the deeper moral right. It is any sovereign individual or group's right to accept or reject an authority they choose to, and they must deal with the consequences of that (often implicit) choice.

A sovereign entity who is by choice or otherwise subject to a malign power will become a channel for that malign power, regardless of whether or not they intend to. And even when there is no malign intent, there can be fundamental disagreements between sovereign states.

It is very possible the individuals don't support Russia. But aside from aiding and supporting defection, there's not much we can do until Russia demonstrates a will to relinquish a hold on Ukraine, who has clearly demonstrated their sovereignty.

This awful creature was, according to my partner, found under or black walnut tree, attached to or emerging from the neck of a very-recently killed bunny that the dog had (killed within the last ~15m). Any idea what it is? More pics available.

It's not smooth like a slug/leech, but has a textured surface. It looks like a grub, but what would a grub be doing attached to a bunny? It has an obvious mouth and anus. She described the mouth part as "hexagonal", which she saw open while it was alive, coming off of or out of the Bunny's neck (it was in or by by a wound it didn't necessarily inflict).

I think it's probably just congealed evil and should be thrown into a fire, along with everything it touched except the puppy, and that's how it's going to get me.

My opinion is obviously tongue-in-cheek, but what is this really?
