If you just went with the most prominent and easily accessible download button it'll probably be ubuntu, but as i said, despite what some might say that's not necessarily a bad thing

I'm pretty sure the question was more about linux mint (ubuntu/default) vs. linux mint debian edition, as those can confidently be called different distros. Don't worry about it though, the issues with ubuntu are actually very small, they're just infinitely magnified on the internet by people who care a lot about the smallest things. There are also many advantages to using ubuntu or an ubuntu derivative. Also this question can be interpreted very humorously, so maybe do that if you like.

it seems like the kind of movie best watched under some kind of influence with a few friends, so I'm expecting great things

I'll gladly believe something else if they claim something else, but their claims are very dystopian

the active listening article is very vague and apart from fantasizing about 24/7 surveillance everywhere for everyone it doesn't say a whole lot directly, so in my mind it's best to assume the worst case scenario

there is a lot of kopi luwak fraud, so it's possible you drank any old coffee and paid out the ass for it. an idea why kopi luwak presumably tastes so good is also that these civets have a very varied diet that enriches the coffee a lot, but caged civets are fed exclusively coffee beans and therefore the coffee won't even taste very good, so even if you did have real kopi luwak it'd probably taste underwhelming.

To be fair there is chess evolved online with over 500 different pieces and chess piece lootboxes if you want a more modern take on the classic game

there still is something fishy about it though

sure, but what if they didn't stand behind you before torture either? I'm not really into torture in general, but maybe this poster has tried all other options already

tfw "rules-based international order" means we're allowed to break those rules whenever we want but our enemies aren't allowed to do the same
