I remember a lot of regular redditors going to voat during that debacle. Voat seemed amazing for a while. The trouble was that voat couldn't handle the influx very well and couldn't solve the frequent outages, so most of the people who migrated bounced back to reddit. Then voat started showing how friendly they were to migrants from subs like /r/FatPeopleHate, which drove the remaining "well adjusted" people back to reddit.

/r/EDH had a post right after the AMA saying they're starting their 48 hour shutdown early and are locking every post in the sub and making it to where only mods can post until reddit comes to their senses.
I'm curious if more subreddits will follow suit.
This comment makes me feel old.
More broadly speaking, these types of comments, where someone talks about being such and such age when X came out/happened/etc.
In this particular instance, I ignored the cars franchise altogether until my first was born in 2013. I was finishing up a degree that I took a bit too long to get in 2006.
Is there another source?
My username is the German version of a jackalope, so I guess I'm going out monty python style.
I'm very tempted to switch to another instance, but from what I understand, you can't migrate your account like you can with Mastodon? That seems like something that should be expected with fediverse apps...
