This is pure gold

Ah. I see. That's the only marvel series I haven't actually watched.

JFC I used to be a libertarian and I still agree with some of their values, but over the last 20 years they've really just become a joke. Not as much as the GOP, who intentionally associate with Cruz and MTG, but this is getting there.

It's like someone said "it can't be worse than Ted Cruz and Margie..." And the libertarian is all "hold my beer."

Dude needs to promise to legalize weed at the federal level to make up for his past bullshit. That would probably get folks out to vote. Imma vote for the old geezer anyway because I don't want to live though Trump being president again. If Trump gets office again, he'll likely never leave.

Marvel has been writing new stories in the genre (what you're calling "the same premise") for like 6 times longer than the MCU has been around. And they have more story arcs to deal with than the simplified MCU stuff.

Sure it's not all great, but I don't think there's any shortage of possibilities within the genre.

I don't disagree, there have been more than a few questionable decisions made by Disney execs on the MCU.

But....

I'm pretty sure Sam Wilson has been Captain America in the comics, more than once I think. I don't think it's a bad move for them to make this change, especially with how well they wrapped up Steve's arc in Endgame. Actors age and using canon replacements is a great way to continue a franchise and introduce new stories.

Also: it's not Black Falcon, it's just Falcon. Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that you weren't being racist about it.

Nope, not at all. I know several former hippies (parents of friends and family) who are very GOP.

My dad (big hippie, but barely a boomer) actually voted for Trump in 1, but now really regrets it and gets stoked about every court case against him

First of all, fuck this racist guy commenting to this thread. I hate that his kind are so often associated with people like myself who believe our population should remain armed.

Second of all, the military cannot be called into domestic affairs, so your "question" is irrelevant. Maybe read more about history and the constitution before spurging your nonsense all over the place.

But mostly... fuck racists, especially kleenbhole.

A large format (12 inch) tablet running Linux with stylus and external monitor support

Wait, what?!? Nuance? GTFO of my guns bad echo chamber with your actually achievable solutions that I would normally otherwise support wholeheartedly!

It's literally the reason behind much of the first gun control laws. Things were fine until whites got scared when they realized African Americans have the same access to guns and they might start defending themselves against the oppression they continued to face in America. Similar to drug law, gun control is very much rooted in racism and NIMBY mentality.

I buy some physical books, but mostly either borrow from the library or for some rare stuff I aquire backup copies from various places online.

If there is a graphical element to a book, like an atlas, or even books like "House Of Leaves" or "pallbearers club" where the ebook is inferior due to the formatting and typesetting, I'll buy the physical copy.

Recently I've been buying really premium versions of books I reread like the deluxe slipcase of LotR and other tolkien stuff (histories box set is next on my list) and the Akira box set. These are things I read every couple of years so I just like to have and hold the really nice stuff.

I also usually like to get physical copies of RPG books because it's faster to use at the table and I don't get distracted by a tablet. The physical version of Mork Borg (and feretory + heretic) is in itself a work of art.
