Tricks to survival when lost in the woods.

  1. Find running water and follow it downstream.
  2. Catch a lone hiker, crack their skull open and feast on the brains.

I wish I could still get lost, I haven't felt that in a long time. That feeling of truely not knowing where you are or what way to go. I like to wander, and navigate using the sun and large landmarks. I try and get lost but just spend all my time not knowing 100% where I am but I know which way a came from and which way I want to go.

Just take a survey stake with you when you go out. If you can't find your way back, pound the stake into the ground and a dozer will be there to knock it over in 15 mins

Come to Australia, we have a very large amount of poorly mapped land which goes on forever without signs of civilisation

Missed opportunity to only cross out the full stop at the end and instead write "quite possibly dead"

Everyone I've talked to survived

[–] Colour_me_triggered@lemm.ee 1 points 7 months ago

This is very true. Tourists are always getting lost in the mountains here and either having to be air lifted out or they get killed by avalanches, drowning, exposure, or just disappear.
