empty modlog despite actions (self.meta)

This comment was replaced with “removed by mod”, but the modlog remains empty. Is this a bug?

I did not see the comment before it was removed but it looks like votes were doing their job so I checked the modlog to see if there was any reason why votes might not be sufficient.

That happens when a user gets banned and their messages are deleted in bulk.

Edit: they were banned from their home instance with the reason "spammer".

Thanks for the explanation.

Sounds like an anti-feature because the general assumption would be that the mod of that channel intervened in that specific comment. Ideally it would say something like “removed in bulk cleanup of malicious user’s content” and link to whatever modlog might capture it.
