Great. I'm buying a house. The market's kind of a shit show, but we finally have everything together to really do buying. It's to the point where if we see a house that fits, we can nab it. We almost did with one house, but decided not to because it just felt outside of our price range. With another one, the neighborhood already has a poor reputation and my husband got pretty aggressively panhandled within a minute of a tour of the neighborhood. I would be okay with it, him not so much.

Last weekend, I was informed by a bike mechanic that the creaking noise in my bike was the frame slowing cracking through. The manufacturer decided not to stand behind their product, so now needing a new bike. I got a Class 3 bike, the Tern HSD S11, to replace it. It has a top speed of 28 MPH (45 KPH), so it goes faaaast. I'm giddy waiting for them to finish with accessories and such.

That's awesome I'm so happy for you!

[โ€“] pingveno@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to both of them.

Pretty alright. Been super busy lately with the start of the school year, but apart from that, everything is going pretty good.

[โ€“] TimothyMcFuck@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

What are you thing to school for

[โ€“] Oatsteak@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Bad. My cat died yesterday and the world is a cold, cruel place with no mercy for sweet, dorky cats.

Don't get pets, folks. Eventually they die and it'll break your heart.

[โ€“] Shaggy0291@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 years ago

I'm so sorry. I wish pets could all outlive their owners like parrots and turtles :(

[โ€“] TimothyMcFuck@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

Oh my fucking God dude I so sorry. Yea it's fucking hard

[โ€“] altair222@beehaw.org 6 points 2 years ago

That shade on the user number tho, oof

[โ€“] Shaggy0291@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 2 years ago

It's going well. I've been off fighting the good fight with my union against greedy and cruel landlords. We came under attack by a leccy after we made the demand for a complete fire safety review of the landlord's property, presumably because it was his fault that our members' house burnt down.

It was productive. I answered a lot of emails.

I had a personal break epiphany while running.

I found out horseradish does not go well with chili. A mild blue cheese works pretty well thought.

Trying a new coffee place. Expensive, but at least the food is good.

Pretty good I guess, but it has just begun.

Funny morning anecdote : visibly not completely awake, after finishing a bowl of cereals with milk this morning, I had my glass beside it and poured water inside the bowl instead of the glass...

Not very great, i want to change job but dont know what to do

[โ€“] DerPapa69@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What exactly are you unsure about? I'm currently looking for something new too

[โ€“] Written2323@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I work in web programming and i was not actually passionate when i started working in that field, it was kind of fun at the start. I did three jobs and continue to work in PHP but as time was going I started to hate it. Now i found this field really frustrating and not really worth my effort.

[โ€“] DerPapa69@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I see, I see. Are you still interested in programming in general? Or are you done with all of that?

[โ€“] Written2323@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I was searching some things about embedded programming in rust. Maybe I can try that

[โ€“] DerPapa69@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Sounds good! I want to start learning Rust too, bit I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Good luck to you!

Fine, I guess.

There's rainy weather but I'm working from home in my pajamas and enjoying a cup of coffee with music in the background while working on my laptop.

I'm also preparing diner between support tickets. I'm enjoying the relaxed vibe.

looks like there's actually at least 26 of us!

i just woke up so idk how today will be, but yesterday was pretty good! i did a group presentation for a college class, and we nailed it. i think this was the first time a group project in school has gone well. then i hung out with some friends in the evening, for the first time in like 3-4 weeks, which was fun.

edit: also congrats on having a post blow up on your first day in lemmy lol

[โ€“] DerPapa69@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Pretty good, thanks! Today is home office day, meaning that I don't do any work and play videogames all day (but still get payed for it!)

I've started looking for new jobs though, since this one doesn't really pay enough

[โ€“] sproid@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago
[โ€“] sgtnasty@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Just started, on the second week of annual leave and relaxin

[โ€“] ff0000@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Quite alright even though i am not good with heat. But a few more hours of working, then making dinner, all that normal human stuff.

[โ€“] kevincox@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

It's a nice sunny day after a few days of thunderstorm. Have a busy day at work but the job is interesting enough. After work looking forward to working on my own stuff.
