Hugely underestimating the natural charisma it takes to make content like this. Most folks just getting out of prison do not have it.

My neighbor is my drinking buddy. One random night, he told me about how he was in prison for twenty years after killing a punk. I thought it would be weird but it wasn't.

Nice dude. But could not hold a conversation.

I can't hold a conversation and I haven't killed anyone

[–] Lifter@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Might as well do it, I guess...

[–] Hellstormy@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Can just improve things, right?

How does one acquire this 'charisma'?

[–] xantoxis@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

With any charisma at all, this would definitely work.

It's pretty hard to beat that when it comes to experience

‘How about you just start a restaurant’ vibes.

The Insider channel has done tons of videos like this, several featured an actual ex-bak robber.

"Alright so today we're reacting to movie rape scenes..."

I call it the bill Cosby special

[–] littlebluespark@lemmy.world 0 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Oh, is that what they call Tony Jaa now?

[–] UntouchedWagons@lemmy.ca 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Sorry I don't know the reference.

Sorry I don’t speak French.

Just want to mention that I think a lot of parole stipulations could make this infeasible.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

No idea on the details, but some countries/states/jurisdictions/etc. do not allow you to profit from past crimes.

But if framed carefully? Maybe? "I'm just providing a video game review based on my past experiences." Bet there's a way to pull this off.

a la Larry Lawton.

Dude gets a bit rambly, but it's mostly good content.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 1 points 11 months ago

Although given the fact that he got caught and arrested, I somewhat I'm doubtful of his bona fides.

Also who doesn't know about dye packs?

As long as it was an fdic insured bank...

[–] Scrof@sopuli.xyz 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

At that point it's community service.

Except for the PTSD for the people working at the bank. He pled to aggravated assault.

It depends on which state, but that's basically just saying that a person felt threatened.
