That's how mastodon works with lemmy unfortunately. There is no fix at the moment except hoping that Lemmy and mastodon find a better way in the future. That will take a while since the Lemmy devs are very busy ATM.

that IS unfortunate. Ok, I unsubscribed. I wrote to the mods at !news@beehaw.org, but many of the boosts are by random users, so nothing to be done I guess. I think it will be an issue that should not be forgotten - should I explain to anyone particular that you know?
I don't think that there's anything that we can do at the moment. Mastodons is still developing their group feature, which uses the same protocol that Lemmy uses to have communities. This will hopefully resolve the problem in the future. Then a Lemmy community can be shown as a mastodon group in mastodon.
Hmm, that sounds more like something that needs to be fixed on the Mastodon side (and would explain why I am not getting any comments from Lemmy at all on my Akkoma server).
Ultimatly, the current way Mastodon works is just not very suited for Lemmy's group actors and the real fix will likely have to wait for Mastodon to implement groups. Supposedly that will happen later this year.
