@rysiek @gloating_swann If I were you, I'd log in right away. Otherwise how would my followers know that I'll be more active on status.net going forward 😆

as i recall, they tried this about three years ago and walked it back after massive backlash, so i'm curious if elon has the hubris (and team) to go through with it now. i'm already seeing a ton of backlash again, anecdotally

Hasn't he fully and utterly demonstrated that he does have all the hubris?

Billionaires truly can get away with doing anything

@gloating_swann I'm curious as to what effect this will have. There are probably dual-wielders, folks on both #Twitter and something like #Bluesky, #Fediverse, #nostr, etc. who don't want to lose their handles. But there are probably people who don't care as well.

I'm continually reminded by a tumblr post I saw about companies passing a threshold prior to which customers will grumble about what they don't like about a service but will pay for it anyway and after which customers will refuse to continue to pay for the service even if the company retracts the changes that pushed it past the threshold.

Lol, lmao. I don't think I'll bother trying to hold mine. I only log in 3 times a year to shill fedi anyway.
