If you're with T-Mobile; another major pain in the ass is known as AppSelector

I'm on TMo and don't have that - but I also brought my own device. Would it be hiding under another name or am i good?

Pixels do not have these problems; as they're 100% pure, unmitigated GOOGLE Android.
You won't have this problem with Pixels; Google explicitly forbids it.
I recommend buying a Motorola (Edge) phone, they don't have any crap on their phones and I they have great battery time.
What device are you using?
