Thank you yes thats what I found too, unfortunately it requires me to setup bixby and I dont trust bixby
Thats weird. I have never set up Bixby and I changed the button.
I changed it as soon as I got my phone, and never set up Bixby. Set it back to being the power button
I use bxactions (not FOSS) to use it as a play/pause button. Can easily pause and skip tracks keeping the phone in my pocket.
Thats a good use and thanks for the app!
I use it to open lemmy.
Thats cool, the question is how did you assign it? Is there an available setting?
There’s a setting that lets you bind it to some simple things, but also a 3rd party app called BxActions that allows for more functionality
Do you know of something similar for the Google Assistant button that some Nokia devices have, by any chance?
I’m not aware of anything off the top of my head, but I’ve also never looked
I second this question.
In fact, it's pretty much the only thing that bothers me on an otherwise excellent device.
Thanks thats exactly what I was looking for
I have a sam 9+ so for me i go to settings, advanced features and its the first one.
Same phone mate!
I use Key Mapper from F-Droid. It's 100% FOSS
Quote from your link:
What can’t be remapped?
huh, that's weird. remapping the Bixby Button definitely works on my S10e. maybe because I use LineageOS instead of Samsung's ROM...
Thanks. Just downloaded it. Gonna check it out
