This is one of those many posts that leaves me wondering, "Why do you want to know?" "What are you going to do with the information?"

There's a lot of people trying to push Firefox on Lemmy lately.

[-] Pechente@feddit.de 5 points 8 months ago

Not just lately. Feels like it always has been like that.

Use anything else? Clearly you’re an idiot /s

[-] 14specks@lemmy.ml 4 points 8 months ago

It's not that you're an idiot, but it's wise to avoid using a chromium/blink based browser since they are building a dangerous monopoly. Firefox is the best known alternative, but there are a couple other options.

[-] Pantherina@feddit.de 1 points 8 months ago

Falkon is actually also nice. But nobody carws about it so no real addons and only maintenance support.

I have no idea who does QTWebengine, but its good

[-] peter@feddit.uk 2 points 8 months ago

At least it's better than on reddit where if you dare mention a browser you'll get a few comments about how great Brave is

I mean its the only FOSS fully customizable and non big-Corp browser that you can harden towards Tor-Browser, use for i2p and so much more

[-] HKayn@dormi.zone 2 points 8 months ago

I know, because there are so many people on here telling me.

Firefox is the only mainstream browser that supports ublock origin on mobile in my experience. Although they've made some very weird decisions settings wise over the years. Like not letting you touch "hidden" settings anymore

[-] Lets_taco_bout_it@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 months ago

Brave has a built in adblock and I find the browser better All around for Android. FF all the way on desktop though

[-] eyecreate@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago

Pixel 6 with GrapheneOS using Firefox.

[-] argo_yamato@lemm.ee 6 points 8 months ago

S23 and Firefox. I do keep the DuckDuckGo browser installed for the app tracker blocker.

[-] 13617@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Same here except for duckduckgo

[-] SleepyWheel@sh.itjust.works 5 points 8 months ago

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and Brave.

[-] beSyl 1 points 8 months ago

I used to like Xiaomi but nowadays, I fucking hate them.

Mine is buggy as fuck, piece of shit software. And they are taking their fucking time updating it. Not that I think that it will fix those bugs..

I need to install some different ROM, but haven't got the time to do that yet.

Samsung A52 and vivaldi

[-] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 4 points 8 months ago

I recently mentioned I gave up my phone, but before I gave it up, it was a highly modified Samsung (I think... no specific model if it was) with no internet (by choice).

[-] President_Pyrus@feddit.dk 4 points 8 months ago

Pixel 6 with Firefox. I use the default os, as the Danish ID isn't supported on rooted devices, and you pretty much need it for everything.

[-] jimp@lemm.ee 4 points 8 months ago

A phone actually made by a company known for making headphones. It’s called the Apple’s iPhone. Seems ok to me. The default browser is Safari and works pretty well. Weird thing about this phone is it doesn’t have a keyboard, just a picture of one on the screen. When you press the screen it can see these presses almost as if it were a real keyboard!

[-] Thisfox@sopuli.xyz 3 points 8 months ago

I think I have heard of them.

[-] deadlyremote@lemmy.ml 3 points 8 months ago

Pixel 3a with Mull.

i could also get a /e/ os phone and an Samsung Galaxy note 9 on iode os

[-] sorrybookbroke@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

You can now get a fairphone with /e/ os pre-installed and with aparent support, if you're thinking of gating a new one anyway. They don't ship to the americas though, and if you get it re-shipped the 5g won't work but if that's not an issue it's a good product

[-] cujo@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 months ago

This is the only thing stopping me from getting a Fairphone. 🥲 I want one so badly. Having it re-shipped might just be worth it if 5g is the only pain point... we'll see.

pixel 6, fennec (fork of Firefox)

[-] MartinXYZ@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 months ago

Phone:OnePlus 6. Default browser: Mull.(it's been Firefox nightly for ages bu I recently switched)

[-] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 8 months ago

Poco X3 Pro and I use Opera. I tried Firefox, but I didn't like it, some websites looked huge, some tiny. The manual scaling option in settings didn't help it. Opera handles scaling of desktop websites properly. It also has desktop-like tab switcher on top which I like.
Firefox mobile probably isn't optimized for tablets, which my phone basically became.

Poco F3 running with /e/OS and mull

iOS with Firefox as my browser.

[-] CalcProgrammer1@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 months ago

OnePlus 6T with postmarketOS, default browser for the Phosh version is Firefox but I use LibreWolf instead.

OnePlus 6 with stock Android, default browser is Chrome but I use Fennec F-Droid (mobile Firefox fork) instead.

[-] Trainzkid@lemmy.ml 3 points 8 months ago

Do you use your cell connection on the 6T + PMOS? I've got an old 5T I'd love to flash Linux onto as a primary phone but not sure how support is on the OnePlus phones

[-] CalcProgrammer1@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 months ago

I use it a lot for data and often for texts, but calls are broken for the most part. Only works in 2G mode and sometimes the audio is broken. When ot works, it works well, but it osn't reliable. That's why I got a second SIM and am carrying an Andrpoid phone as well for now. Once calls and camera work I'll drop the Android phone again. Waydroid works pretty well for the few remaining Android apps I use.

[-] Pantherina@feddit.de 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Pixel 4a, GrapheneOS. Default is Vanadium but it damn sucks. Mull forever

Nokia 7+, unofficial LineageOS, default browser this useless Chromium wrapper, using Mull too.

Other browsers are Tor-Browser for Android. The rest is not worth using, I tried most reasonable ones

  • Bromite, Cromite, Vanadium
  • Brave
  • Firefox
  • Privacy Browser
  • Foss browser
  • Fennec

Galaxy A51, and I switch between DuckDuckGo/Bing/Fennec

[-] joemo@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 8 months ago

Pixel 7 Pro - Firefox.

I started using Firefox again a few years ago on desktop as I need to test things across multiple browsers. On mobile, they have the navigation bar on the bottom and I switched ha. No other reason.

[-] mitrosus@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 8 months ago

Ungoogled pure CrDroid on some 2018 mobile. Running Firefox as main browser.

[-] vox@sopuli.xyz 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Galaxy a52s (that s is important!), a decent phone.
has 5g/wifi6, spapdragon cpu, 120hz oled display, a headphone jack and an sd card slot (unfortunately it's combined with sim) all in a waterproof package (and battery that lasts for 7-8 hour sot with everything on). got it on sale for ~275$ and i love it.
won't bother upgrading to anything but flagships for a long time.
Running stock debloated rom atm, but may switch to something like pixel experience (support is already running out; it's just 3 years, not 5 like on newer models)
I'm using Firefox Beta with tons of extensions.

[-] vitor_sk0n@lemmy.ml 1 points 8 months ago

Poco X3 NFC (w/ Android 13 custom ROM) and my main browser is Edge with Cromite on the side.

My main browser for years and years was Firefox (both windows and mobile) but for whatever reason Firefox is super slow loading pages on my desktop (while other browsers open instantly) and I just got tired of troubleshooting the issue.. so I just switched
