Those ev makers were potential Tesla competitors. If you are getting funding to make an EV jeep, once you are making the product, it's easy to start marketing it to consumers like Hummer.

A side note: the M1A2 is already a hybrid electric vehicle. :) The fuel economy is just very, very bad.

I propose that the media in general will see to it that in the coming four years actions of the Trump admin only be considered newsworthy if they aren't stupid, self enriching acts of prostrating the country to the whims of big business and foreign dictators.
