I'm pretty sure Florida is a right to work state, meaning trump has the absolute right to contact his boss for direction whenever he pleases/needs guidance.

You are very optimistic.
He'll never be put on trial for this, and not for the usual reasons. The Logan Act has rarely been prosecuted, and none of the cases that were prosecuted resulted in convictions. It likely violates the First Amendment. It's entirely possible the Supreme Court would make a unanimous decision on this one.
This isn't the first time the Logan Act has been brought up in regards to Trump, and I wish the media would stop. Of all the Not Happening of Trump crimes, this is the most Not Happening.
