All it does is piss off your employees who will have less motivation to work for you. I don't understand why companies do this.

The issue is, do you see that as a problem? Yes, our demographic is changing, no one is denying it. To the vast majority of people, it's not a problem though.
I'm starting this as our first dive into DnD later this week. Did your group completely go off the path of the main story? I've read through and it looks like a 4 maybe 5 session story to me.

Think of it like the Proud Boys went to Mexico and gunned down a small town and took hostages back to Texas. Mexico attacks the Proud Boys in response, then starts wiping out hospitals, schools, residential zones in Oklahoma and New Mexico, places and people that have nothing to do with the Proud Boys. And the world stands by and watches.
Think of it like the politics in Game of Thrones. It's used to build the drama.
