The former president repeatedly misspoke during a speech on Wednesday.

Speaking in Long Island on Wednesday, Donald Trump was as bombastic and boastful as ever—but also slurred his words on several occasions.

Trump stumbled over words like “migrants” and “Russia” and had trouble stringing sentences together. In another instance, Trump said he was “greater even than Elvis” because unlike the King, he doesn’t have a guitar—a riff that has increasingly featured in his speeches.

But does it matter? His boot-lickers would follow him into a burning inferno.

Unfortunately, this seems to already be happening. The inferno they're making is the United States.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

His followers don't matter, they are a lost cause.

People who vote party lines or don't really pay attention might be disuaded from voting for him if they are teminded often enough that his cognitive decline might be a reason to not vote for him. Mainly the unaffiliated voters who don't think about things too much and Republicans who want competent evil candidates.

The cognitive issues might be a dealbreaker for those voters.

They should

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 months ago

Are we taking donations for kindling? I can canvas for such a noble cause.

He’s about the same shape of Elvis at the end

— also probably around the same amount of amphetamine usage

— the hair is vaguely similar

— there’s a fairly decent chance Trump could die while on the toilet like Elvis

However, Trump can’t sing, can’t play guitar and is the worst dancer since Karl Rove.

[–] kescusay@lemmy.world 31 points 3 months ago (3 children)

I just googled "Karl Rove dancing." I have regrets.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago (3 children)

The worst part is he was rapping

[–] Ion@lemmy.myserv.one 5 points 3 months ago

Add this to the list of his crimes against humanity

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

He calls this one The Swan Pogo

[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 months ago

He likes his women in the same age group, can't forget that.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Cognitive Decline? Everything Trump Has Ever Said During Political Existence.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 35 points 3 months ago (1 children)

While he has always had incoherent rambling since 2016. It is getting worse over time. Instead of switching aubjects at the end of sentences, he is changing midsentence and having trouble with simple words.

He didn't have issues with saying 'migrant' 8 years ago, but that word is throwing him for a loop regularly now.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (2 children)

He's better at some times and not others, though. He wasn't this bad at the debates.

He kept saying that Biden must be in drugs to stay awake, it makes me wonder what kind of amphetamines Trump is taking.

[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 13 points 3 months ago

All of them

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I didn't watch the first debate, but he was absolutely having cognative issues at the one with Harris. He gets worse without interruptions.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

He's like one of those impossible staircases that goes downhill forever.

[–] Kingofthezyx@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago

Boy got a brain that makes MC Escher be like "bro, what?"

[–] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 43 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Maybe he should drop out of the race if he's unfit to run a country. Everyone's saying it.

[–] n3m37h@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Nah let em stay, Fuck the repubs, all they seem to want to do is fuck everyone but rich folks

[–] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 months ago

So then VP Vance becomes President Vance Thanks

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 39 points 3 months ago (4 children)

He could take a dump on stage and they wouldn't care. As long as he hates the right people. I have a ton of "I'm voting for the felon" signs in my area. I was baffled that anyone a supported him openly after that shit show of a debate. I'd be embarrassed.

[–] Nomecks@lemmy.ca 22 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Spoiler alert: None of them are watching. All they get is the chosen sound bites.

[–] 800XL@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago

They'd be stepping all over each other to get up on that stage and roll around in it before that dump even had a chance to cool.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

take a dump on stage

He said Elvis; not Blind Melon.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I mean you could probably sneak a diaper under those jumpsuits and it's gotta be a pain to get out of.

[–] TheObviousSolution@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago

That is like being baffled that someone remains religious after "reading the Bible". Everyone is reading from just a few select passages that suit them while ignoring what the rest say and imply about them and their religion.

[–] kinsnik@lemmy.world 35 points 3 months ago (2 children)

"I'm the greatest of all time. Maybe greater even than Elvis . Because Elvis had a guitar. I don't have a guitar. Elvis had a guitar. I don't have the privilege of a guitar."

that's it. he has my vote. /s

[–] Windex007@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago

I like that the premise of this was that he called up his wife to tell her that.

[–] warbond@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah, it's dumb, but this isn't the thing to call him out on. The videos posted were just of his stupid ramblings that the audience clearly took as funny. Where's the slurred speech? Show me some clear indicators like the two-handed water drinking a while back.

[–] kikutwo@lemmy.world 34 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He also said Bagram was in Alaska during his town hall Tuesday. This was news to our armed forces who served in Afghanistan.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Trump also promoted his wife Melania Trump’s new memoir—but admitted that he hadn’t read it and that he doesn’t know what she wrote about him, telling the crowd, “If she says bad things about me, I’ll call you all up and I’ll say, don’t buy it, get rid of it.”

Yeah, he hasn’t read it.

[–] CitizenKong@lemmy.world 15 points 3 months ago (3 children)

He very probably doesn't read books at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't even read his own book.

[–] zalgotext@sh.itjust.works 11 points 3 months ago

There's substantial evidence that Trump can't read, or at least not at a level expected of an adult professional

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

He definitely doesn’t read books at all.

[–] calabast@lemm.ee 6 points 3 months ago

I really can't imagine Trump sitting in a chair, holding a book and quietly reading it.

[–] ohellidk@sh.itjust.works 23 points 3 months ago (7 children)

Fucker's still got half the vote. Maybe we do deserve the punishment for being so stupid! History will repeat itself, and it looks like its happening soon.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 15 points 3 months ago

It's propaganda. People that choose to consume corporate media (even us here) are often duped by propagandists, but Fox and Newsmax are among the absolute worst literally fabricating a false reality for their viewers so that they feel victimized by their opposition and see Trump as their savior...

It's so fucking gross.

Obligatory: I FUCKING HATE PROPAGANDISTS!
