Quiet Part out loud, if there's one thing they hate more than the threat that women can say no to staying in abusive relationships, it's that they can run away to escape abuse if they can't take their safety at home.

This is why it's important people understand the details of the civil war.

What lead to it wasn't just "slavery" it's that the South wanted the federal government to go into Northern states and bring back anyone that was suspected of being an escaped slave back to the South. Basically they wanted federal law enforcement to go on slave raids.

They won't be happy with shitty laws in their own states, they want to force everyone else to follow them.

And this time the SC is on their side, and if we won't fix that, we need to be ready for the bullshit they'll keep pulling.

Just an aside: This is why many on the right are so terrified of "the other". They want to rule over others, so they naturally project that other want to rule over them. They want to control other people's lives, so naturally they project that others want to control their lives.

And they do this not realizing that the other they fear so much actually votes with them, not even including the other nationalities, ethnicities or races, a lot of people forgot (have been brainwashed) that their denomination of Christianity is a minority.

Not to dismiss how insane the current court is, but the US supreme court was also on enslaver's side before the civil war. They were famous for making the terrible dred scott ruling

It's the scary part... the last time the court pendulum swing this far we had a full blown CIVIL WAR.

Go read Lincoln's inaugural address.

The majority is about how he wasn't going to federally outlaw slavery.

So yeah. The SC was proslavery, but the North wasn't against it either until well into the war. Even then it wasn't about doing the right thing. Wealthy Europeans knew the north would win, but also knew Southern landowners would sell on the cheap during the war.

By federally outlawing slavery, it made the agricultural land in the South drop in value.

This allowed the war to end significantly earlier.

The left of center position is "If you're against abortions, don't get an abortion." The right's position is "Abortion is always wrong and nobody should be allowed to do it." It does not follow that they'll be content to stop at the local level, or the state level, or even the national level. The only reason anybody thinks that it might is marketing (lying).

Thank God JD Vance, a white man, is there to protect black women specifically from seeking abortions. We all, conservative white men, know that they, black, don't understand what they are doing. /S obviously

[–] ProdigalFrog 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

block women, not black. I misread it as well, especially since it'd be easy to believe he'd target black women specifically.

EDIT: I was wrong! Listened to the audio and he does explicitly say black women!

Source? Trust but verify and all that.

Edit: Nevermind, googled it myself: https://x.com/KamalaHQ/status/1816648974549369095?lang=en

Sounds like he's on a podcast

As an intellectual exercise, what do you suppose are the chances that Vance is a nazi? I don’t mean ‘nazi’ in a rhetorical sense, and I don’t mean ‘nazi’ in the sense that his worldview and ideologies overlap with those of nazis. I mean, what are the chances that he’s actually in his basement with a brown shirt, seig heil-ing from time to time? It probably doesn’t matter, as long as his civic actions support that cause anyway. But I wonder this each time I hear yet another awful detail about this loser. I peg it at about 10%, low but definitely above zero.

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He's definitely one of those guys that's says he collects WWII memorabilia, when what he means is he has a basement full of Nazi flags

[–] Doxatek@mander.xyz 4 points 9 hours ago

I knew a kid like that. His parents would say how he's super into WW2 history. Meanwhile he only had an absolute shit ton of Nazi memorabilia only read books about Nazis and dressed in a leather jacket that looks like the Nazi one ... I'm pretty sure he's a Nazi... Idk why else it would be his absolute only interest area and nothing else

Here is the Trump/Harris debate. They won't let me copy the clip, so choose abortion on the side if you want to hear both of their answers.
