Thats my friend! He's really like that all the time and is genuinely compassionate and wholesome in every aspect of his life.

He volunteers on a local community radio show each week called The Pedestrian Show where he advocates for better biking infrastructure in the city. He's like actually involved in city council meetings and breaks down the proposed development plans on the radio in simple terms so people can understand what's happening in the city without reading 50 pages of legalese.

Also, he's really good at ping pong haha.

This guy just seems to be the absolute definition of a class act. Glad you're able to call this gentleman a friend!

I wish people like him were candidates we got at elections, unfortunaly the system completely filters out kind people

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world -5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

No, it really doesn't. I expect Obama, W, and Biden were all kind people.

[–] Krono@lemmy.today 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

It depends what you mean by "kind". If you ignore the war crimes and focus on their interpersonal skills, sure you can say they were kind.

But by that same definition, Hitler was kind too.

[–] Dagnet@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

I agree with you, Obama and Biden may be much better than the alternatives, but nowhere close to actually being kind

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Wow this one really went 0-100 real quick

[–] Krono@lemmy.today 10 points 1 month ago

As an American, I feel the need to pushback when someone tries to rehab or whitewash our war crimes.

Saying "W. is kind" is just unacceptable pablum.

W is a war criminal

call this man mr rogers and give him a TV show goddamn he seems like a good fella.

This dude sounds amazing!

[–] Rolando@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

Pupusas may be simple-looking, but they are amazing if made well and very filling. Plus they are easy to carry and store and they heat up well.

Is the owner allowed to write off food donations like this?

[–] Phoenix3875@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

In this particular case, the server offered to pay for the meal, rather than give it for free.

[–] 3laws@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

I will gladly get fired over doing what is morally right. But anyway, the guy said he was going to pay the other guys food. 🤷

Good to see Arkansas getting some love.

I was some hours from Little Rock, however Northwest Arkansas region, and there was a lot of compassion witnessed. Was homeless there for a short while, and without the kind nature of people I wouldn't be here.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Did not see that ending coming

[–] GBU_28@lemm.ee 12 points 1 month ago (2 children)

You expected the worker to compassionately comp food, offer the best of the menu, and then tell the guy to fuck off?

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I was not expecting it to be in Arkansas. Yes I totally missed that it says it at the top.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Maybe he expected the police to show up, or some other person who doesn't work there to cause an issue. The idea of a fully wholesome ending is rare these days, so people are FULLY prepared for the moment life fucks them.

As a reader on this sub it's ludicrous silly goose behavior to get 2/3 through this post and think that of the final sentence.

[–] Mog_fanatic@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Yooo i'll gladly take those chips and salsa and pupusas if you don't want them...
