While they have a shitty history because of the founders/controlling stock holders, that wouldn't keep the company lawyers from protecting the brand against outside actors.

I have a theory about this.
Of course, the GOP lies about everything all the time. But this specific strategy of using a silly meme seems to be a weak attempt to copy the memes about Vance and couches. That started from an obvious shitpost but ended up having some real legs because Vance and Trump are so fucking weird and it’s a shorthand for that.
A meme about immigrants eating cats is punching down and isn’t shorthand for anything except to signal that the person spreading it is racist.
You see, the problem with that theory is that you put more than half a second into thinking. So you're not the target audience here.
I think it’s simply they can’t direct their fear mongering of immigrants screwing with your children towards childless people for their votes. So in their mind the childless people love their pets more than children so let’s fear monger about the bad immigrants coming for your pets.
Reminds me what my parents warned me about when I was a child: strange adults baiting me with cute animals.
So, honest question......is the GOP exploding right now? It kind of seems like if a new party were to form just after the election, the GOP would cease to exist. It REALLY feels like there is a legit chance that trump could end the GOP, and all it's followers would jump ship to a new, more sane and stable party.
I doubt it. Those that would've opposed them left the party. Now if the GOP were to somehow get rid of Trump and he went on to form his own party out of spite? That could definitely end the GOP.
This is where you laugh at every Republican right in their face.
I mean there's been quite a few surveys done showing that today's dating scene, being Republican, especially MAGA, is a detriment to getting laid.
