Former LW team member here: Yeah all of the head admins fucking suck and many of them are cunts. I'm not vegan, but I am a state licensed and trained wildlife carer and while many people were lying about the bs with cats being able to be vegan etc, it isn't okay the way the sub was stolen by the admins. I should say, the reason I did not comment using my account was because I was accidentally banned in a wave, which has now been reversed. No need to have a tanty over it. Yeah another thing, I'm Trans and Indigenous, not just some white dude commenting. One more, I'm not rolling over, it's just I have reported the TERFs and been ignored by the greens. And while I am replying, I think that the police need a massive chunk of reform, but we need to stop pretending like cops/rule enforcement isn't somehow necessary. No matter what society, there will always be people who do vile, disgusting and horrible things and unfortunately I live in an area with that happening a lot, so please know I don't live in some rich place with no crime and no reason to have cops. I care a lot about healthcare as someone who has conditions regularly requiring help, aswell as climate change as a young person. I don't think the whole Greens are TERFS, just it has a serious issue with it.

A bit ago I posted on reddit about how gameboys (handheld console) were getting more expensive and Scalpers were making it worse. For a bit the post maintained in the double digits with the occasional scalper downvoting. I went to bed and the next morning- Boom. I had been spam downvoted by people who's main activity is on Scalper subreddits and marketplaces.

Egalu is me and a couple other peoples idea conceived in a discord movie night. Egalu is going to be built on the activitypub protocol. It is meant to be an FOSS version of facebook, without data selling, transphobes, dickheads, and bot moderation. We expect the first version of this within 3 months (likely not this long, just ensuring we don't get anyones hopes up with something like 3 days for the 1st version)

Some memories today (CW: Suicide discussion) (lemmy.world)
 

I was remembering some school memories today and remembered LifeEd (Australian sexual and life advice/education). At one section we discussed suicide and we were talked about one cause (I can't remember what exactly) of suicide and for a second we just thought and a kid silently placed his hand over his heart and looked down. I remember nobody noticing except me and I wondered what he was doing. Now I realize he most likely lost someone to it. I wish I had known what he was doing so I could have helped him through it. Nowadays I have no clue what happened to him or where he is now but every once in a while it pops up in my mind. I hope wherever he is now, he is okay. He was really isolated from the rest of the class and was silent as hell. He rode the bus and would get off and disappear once the ride was complete, into the crowd. I saw him get on a tram but after that, I don't remember any more.
Anyway, that was a thing that happened today.
