Tbh I was mystified when they announced the thing. It’s a clear attempt to end-run the spirit of the export restrictions of this sort of tech to China. I expect the legislature and courts to be pretty unsympathetic to Nvidia here.
Nvidia and their Chinese customers had to see this coming. Wonder if they’ll also be fined for trying to circumvent the export ban?
Well, since Nvidia has more money than god, the only definition of "fine" that applies to them is "alright".
