I'm equally frustrated with Democrats and Republicans here. Presidents don't get special privilege when it comes to free speech. Every day there are thousands of posts on X advocating for the death of Democrats, immigrants & minorities.

The media apparently doesn't care about them or Musk allowing it, but don't you dare joke or speak your mind about the Trump assassination attempt or you'll get CANCELLED.

Many people see this election as life or death. Democrats biggest message has been that democracy is on the line in this election. However, they don't act like they actually believe it.

If you believe Trump will end democracy as we know it, then it would be perfectly normal for you to wish for a different outcome here. It isn't illegal to wish or think that way. Republicans are hypocritical baby Karens who are opportunist. They see and opportunity & then run to it, but don't expect them to give you the same courtesy if the roles are reversed.

Democrats had no reason to apologize about what happened to Trump. Trump should have been apologizing saying how he took it too far on Jan 6. He should be denouncing his followers and supporters that advocate for killing LGBTQ+, or his rhetoric about immigrants.

This needs to be louder. The DNC as an organization is absolutely not participating in fighting off fascism. It feels like they learned corporate money was an option, just like Republicans, and agreed that Republicans are the chosen party. They rolled over and accepted Republicans - going so far as to look like they are helping churn up R votes at times by in fighting over the dumbest fucking shit. And they never fight back. Or discourage their members from making waves.

Democrats saw D next to their name and figures they would only play defense, never ask pointed questions, don't rock the boat, just accept quiet dignity as a reward when Republicans are loud ass millionaires because money is their entire motivation. Then those R dollars go into think tanks and terrorists, causing more social anxiety that the R plays into while the Ds do nothing.

I’ll go one step further. The DNC is nothing more than another arm of the plutocracy. They are there to try to give the common person hope but are nothing more than a feint. The plutocracy sees this as a chance to seize power through a “aww, we just barely lost democracy, let’s embrace this new standard of rule” moment and are going for it.

The only real ones fighting “for the people” are a small group of progressives backed by AOC and Bernie.

Elon called Kyle Gass of Tenacious D evil because of his "Don't miss Trump next time" birthday wish.

The hypocrisy isn't surprising, but still worth pointing out.

Strip his assets, confiscate his passport, and deport his ass back to South Africa. I'm so sick of this attention seeking sociopath.

I've just been using firefox's reader mode but this does work surprisingly well. Thank you.

If github kills this repo again, it might stop updating the list, but then it will show that it cant update in the settings tab.

Works just the same on mobile, but only if you use firefox/fennec i guess, or do the chromium browsers have proper addon support by now?

[–] 9tr6gyp3@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I dont use either of those, or chromium based browsers.

What else is there for mobile? Or are you on an apple thing?

It works but it's hard to read because of formatting.

Did you try opening in a private tab? Many pay walls rely on cookies and give you a "first one's free" so opening in a private tab makes every article your first article.

You didn't miss much either way. Copy pasted the article below:

Trump-endorsing billionaire Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and the owner of the social media company once known as Twitter, received criticism on his own platform on Saturday after sharing a video showing an animated Donald Trump killing Joe Biden.

Musk over the weekend took to his own platform, now called X, to share what he deemed to be the "best AI video to date."

The video shows Trump, as "Neo" from The Matrix, stopping bullets in mid-air and then fighting an "agent" AI-generated to look like Joe Biden. Trump then kicks Biden to the ground before jumping inside the president's body until he explodes. Trump-Neo is left standing and flexing afterward.

Multimedia journalist David Leavitt flagged the development, saying, "Elon Musk shares ai video of Donald Trump murdering Joe Biden in a plagiarized Matrix scene." In a separate post, Leavitt tagged the U.S. Secret Service and asked, "Why are you showing videos of Donald Trump murdering Joe Biden?"

NAACP leader Derrick Johnson called on Musk to remove the video, citing the recent assassination attempt against the former president.

"Only a week after a political assassination attempt, [Musk] posts an AI video of President Biden shooting at Donald Trump," Johnson wrote. "It’s sick. This is exactly the kind of content that platforms like Elon’s should moderate. It only promotes violence and division. Elon, take it down."

@matpolloy said, "The hypocrisy from conservatives is f------ ridiculous and say we’re the ones inciting violence."

"Elon is an immigrant against immigration," he added. "He’s anti-trans bc of his trans daughter. He is a spiteful baby."

@oralcarter376 said, "[Musk] shares a video of Trump murdering [Biden]. 'Good job' TWITTER. [Secret Service] it's time you pay Elon at visit."
