This is the best summary I could come up with:
Hours after a battle in eastern Ukraine in August, a wounded and unarmed Russian soldier crawled through a nearly destroyed trench, seeking help from his captors, a unit of international volunteers led by an American.
The shooting of the unarmed, wounded Russian soldier is one of several killings that have unsettled the Chosen Company, one of the best-known units of international troops fighting on behalf of Ukraine.
In a second episode, a Chosen member lobbed a grenade at and killed a surrendering Russian soldier who had his hands raised, video footage reviewed by The Times shows.
In a third episode, Chosen members boasted in a group chat about killing Russian prisoners of war during a mission in October, text messages show.
A Greek soldier known as Zeus was at the center of all three episodes — tossing the grenade and, Mr. Grosse says, firing at the wounded Russian in the trench and bragging about another kill.
But in the United States military, a video showing the killing of a surrendering soldier, regardless of the circumstances, would prompt an immediate investigation, said Rachel E. VanLandingham, a professor at Southwestern Law School and a former U.S. Air Force lawyer.
The original article contains 2,902 words, the summary contains 197 words. Saved 93%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
Justifying war crimes - the American way
Listen, Russians are literally Orks, tho. They're not humans. You can kill as many as you want and it's fine.
If you think this take is hot, wait till you hear what we think about Palestinians, Mexicans, and anyone from Detroit.
Nazis doing warcrimes. Shocker!
Bold move using whataboutism for countries that don't have national holidays for the nazi leader who was in charge of the holocaust in their regions
Extremely appropriate that a "Mr Lemmy" is a nazi apologist.
Isn't it literally illegal to be a Nazi in Germany?
No surprises for the Fr*nch though, read up on the nightmare shit they did in Algeria.
Isn’t it literally illegal to be a Nazi in Germany?
As always, it's not illegal when you're in the police while you're doing this shit
The German justice system has reported the discovery of Nazi symbols and child pornography in messages exchanged by police officers in a private group chat.
Five police officers, aged 22 to 25 and from three different districts, were involved in sharing the illegal content, according to the public prosecutor in charge of the investigation.
This is one of the US's partners in the war:
America loves Nazis, whether they're Ukrainian Neonazis or Zionazis.
The war is a classic example of fascist infighting
Fascists are nationalists. Fascists from different nations fighting each other isn't really infighting, that's just like, regular fighting.
Not something we should be fueling at any rate. Heaven forbid anyone asks about a peace plan that isn't total victory, though.
Yeah it's tough to find a compromise when Russia seems to go for the total victory or at least a settlement of gains and Ukraine hopes for a stalemate without border changes.
Ukraine hopes for total retreat from all claimed Ukrainian territory, not a mere stalemate. That's hardly compromise.
That's right and as long as US and western allies keep up with deliveries there is a chance for Ukraine to achieve its objectives.
Ideally leading to Russian collapse.
Before you get bent out of shape about it is in possible...
Recent history does demonstrate that invading country that faces a determined opposition will generally have to go home with their dicks tucked.
How long can Russia spin this shot at home esp as Ukraine is striking critical assets deep within Russia.
And the west hasn't even given Ukraine the best shit and permission to use it as needed.
Okay Brzezinski. Russia hardly faces a determined opposition: it faces a dwindling supply of forced conscripts.
Well you got nothing to worry about then. Kyiv by winter?
I don’t think they even want Kyiv. Western Ukraine is rife of neo-Nazis, making it impossible to occupy long-term.
I thought they were liberating rather than occupying?
The difference, geographically, between “liberating” and “occupying” can be found in the the decade-long civil war after the US-backed 2014 coup and the Minsk Accords. Kit Klarenberg: Civil War in Donbass 10 Years On
Somebody is coping here haha
Seriously. You can show them objective facts from multiple sources from around the world with completely disparate editorial incentives and they'll just troll you. Then years later you can show them THEIR OWN SIDE admitting that very same thing and even then they'll just continue as they were with the same profoundly unserious, trite attitude towards the subject. Lol.
??? Why would old collaborators (of which decidents were justly punished later) hurt "the tankie"?
Better mention banderites who ran off to the west where they were sucking up to CIA, MI6 and West German washed-nazi intelligence while murdering people left and right (in Germany, after war no less). it's even in the wiki too.

what about this one?
Hey liberal, I’m a little fuzzy on dates. Did this happen before or after the Munich agreement? Before or after Stalin tried to ally with Britain and France against the Nazis?
