It's hilarious how much the Trump campaign and right wing media are panicking about this debate. They're doing everything in their power to preemptively craft narratives to justify his poor performance. Hell, last week Trump was saying he planned to lose "on purpose." Clown behavior.

Worthy? I bet he's a master debater!

[–] celeste@kbin.earth 13 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Thank you for making the joke first so I can pretend I didn't come to this post to make it. I'm just here for important political conversations, yup.

[–] ChihuahuaOfDoom@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago

I have no shame

[–] ChowJeeBai@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Well. He's certainly not a cunning linguist...

[–] PythagreousTitties@lemm.ee 4 points 4 months ago

If it's one thing my family is known for, it's our cunning linguist

[–] ChihuahuaOfDoom@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

We should ask Jill.

Right wing media has been doing such a bang up job attacking Biden's heath and mental fitness, that all he has to do is:

Show up

State full name

What day and time

Say "Person, woman, man, camera, TV,”and boom. Debate won. The bar is so fucking low, Vern Troyer could step over it with ease. (RIP Vern. I miss you man)

God, all Biden has to do is mention sharks and trump will talk about how he'd prefer to be electrocuted.

[–] ZeroCool@vger.social 15 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Trump: "If I'm reelected we won't stop at nuking the hurricanes - we're gonna nuke the sharks too and make Jason Momoa pay for it!"

Army of red-hatted morons: "NUKE THE SHARKS! NUKE THE SHARKS! NUKE THE SHARKS!"

How did this age?

[–] pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online 29 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Lol, like Trump will show up to a debate. Plus, I doubt his handlers will let him because of the dementia.

[–] Ledivin@lemmy.world 31 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

I've been waiting for a cancelation since it was announced. Trump agreed to mic muting? lol, okay, sure he did... I'll believe it when I see it

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 13 points 4 months ago

*when I don't hear it

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Then he’ll complain, “they muted me!”

“… and right when I was about to win! Rigged!”

[–] ChowJeeBai@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Hell just blame it on his candidacy and/ or court schedules.

[–] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

My election interference case, where I fucked a porn star while my wife was recovering from child birth, makes it impossible for me to go to the rigged debate on failing CNN. -- Trump, probably

[–] Ledivin@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Not a chance... he's never included that much information in so few words.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 22 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Ah, the old "Make your oppenent look unhumanely strong because you know you wil lose anyway."

[–] misterundercoat@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.

[–] TexMexBazooka@lemm.ee 2 points 4 months ago

Classic fascist trope

[–] stevedidwhat_infosec@infosec.pub 13 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Literal spaghetti logic- throw everything at the wall and see what sticks

Any republicans with brain cells left will likely still vote for rfk

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Those aren’t brain cells. Those are brain worms.

[–] rbesfe@lemmy.ca 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I saw a Hannity clip where he's now moved from "Joe Biden was on coke during the SOTU speech" to "maybe it was a caffeine pill". These nut jobs are getting their pants twisted over a completely imaginary scenario where the president takes caffeine...

[–] bquintb@midwest.social 5 points 4 months ago

This debate is going to be peak clown-world-shit-show.

[–] InternetUser2012@midwest.social 2 points 4 months ago

I'll be very surprised if tRump shows.

[–] uebquauntbez@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago
