Is there literature on how to repair things? I mean general stuff, not just for a single appliance.

There are so many things today that a consolidated manual is a bit silly. The closest thing is online resources ranging from youtube and tiktok to wikihow and forums. Realistically the best thing to strive for is right to repair laws that mandate full instructions manuals. If the manuals are published online, anyone with internet can repair their things

I mean, sure. I'm not asking how to become an expert in every appliance. I'd like to learn how to do general troubleshooting. How to understand how and where to measure voltage, how to figure out which part is faulty, how to find a proper replacement, etc.

Yeah I was saying making a consolidated manual/encyclopedia on how to fix everything is impractical

There are books on general soldering and electric control boards etc.

Do you have any suggestions on how to read and analyze circuit boards?

Sorry not an expert on that at all, but I am sure some guidance literature on that must exist. Maybe ask on our /c/fixing community ?

Thanks, I'll try that!
