All doors have a keyhole on both sides?? What kinda doors do you have?
I don't think I've seen a door with a keyhole on both sides unless it was maybe a commercial door to a store or something.
Idk where you're from but this is pretty much the standard here, even the bathroom doors are the same.
Where are you located? It seems so interesting because it seems rather dangerous to be able to just lock someone inside like that.

Ive heard yall have very weak doors, also walls you can punch through. The architecture here is very different. Also growing up we never locked our main door since its basically crime free here so safety isnt much of a concern.
