That's putting way too much faith into the moral priorities of the American people. She lost because she ran a truly awful and abysmal campaign and focused on everything but the economic issues. I think she was an unlikeable person who lacked charisma and the ability to speak organically and this is something everyone saw through. The democrat strategy was let's make people see how evil Trump is and that'll put them off, but that didn't work in 2016 and it's something that is not going to resonate with people who are facing economic hardship and this is shown in the polls where the main concern was the economic situation of the country.

Kamala Harris had every opportunity to succeed, but, but she refused to. She tacked to the right om every issue to the point that if she won last night, things probably wouldn't end up being very different. She abandoned trans people, she barely spoke on the economy, she abandoned immigrants in favor of right-wing border policy, she abandoned Muslims and Arabs and young people in favor of Israel and forever wars. She depressed voter turnout and abandoned her own base to try to capture Republicans and tha mythical moderate Americans and a message of "unity." Trump didn't run an excellent campaign, Kamala ran a shit one. The democrats will never learn that yelling at their own voters doesn't win elections.

All that being said, we knew this would happen, and even if it didn't, our task as communists remains the same: resist.

Arm yourself and create self-defense groups - you have a right to. Organize mutual aid groups - the people around us will need it more than ever. Create or join a union - there's a call for a general strike in 2028, and we need to be prepared. If you can, sue to block right-wing laws. If you have a Democratic representative, call, email, mail, whatever. Demand that they change, even if it's blind hope. Join a political party, whether it be PSL, CPUSA, DSA, Working Families Party, or even the Green Party. Resist, resist, resist. The only way we can get through this is together.

Now that Trump won LGBT spaces are full of people going "oh no! I'm so scared!" One server I'm in (not even LGBT related) posted 'tesources' for trans people since 'things may be harder now'

I live in a red state. The GOP are already oppressing me and have for four years. Now liberals in blue states are TERRIFIED of the prospect of having it happen to them. None of them did a thing to help us LGBT people in red states, now want everything to be about them as there's a chance they will get a little uncomfortable. Now that it affects them it's time to help each other out, while people like me have been suffering for years. But no! Biden can't do anything about it! The president doesn't have that power (which then why can Trump do what Biden cant?)!

I even had a cis person try to lecture me about why voting for Harris will help me when I was trying to explain how I already live in a red state

Liberals only care about themselves, and the LGBT community has massive issues in regards to solidarity not only with each other but with other minorities. Instead of trying to get people on board with them they shame and blame others into supporting them.

I think people may miss this given how everyone focuses on the percentages, but if you look at the raw numbers:

74 million people voted for trump in 2020. Currently according to AP numbers, in 2024 he's at 70 million votes.

Meanwhile:

81 million voted for Biden in 2020, while in 2024, that's 66 million for Harris.

Trump didn't win because he suddenly got more popular. The democrat voter base just collapsed by roughly 18%

I just want to put things out there because the narratives are already starting to form and everyone seems to be focusing on the percentages, and ignoring the raw numbers.
