Saw this on Mastodon and thought folks might be interested in it.

The Brisbane Magistrates Court today heard the Crown intended to present an ex officio indictment, which would see the matter bypass committal in the lower court, and an indictment presented in a higher court sooner than expected.

"It obviously speeds up the system, it saves the court considerable time and money, and obviates the necessity of victims to give lengthy statements or indeed give any evidence at all."

Sounds like a good idea, but unfortunately requires the consent of the defendant.

Looking for a psychologist or therapist, maybe. Preferably someone who has worked with cases of extreme isolation. Seen a few at random before, for various durations (longest for nearly a year), and they've all been completely inept at understanding my past and were not at all helpful.

Grew up in a cult-like environment, with no socialising as a child or young adult. Trying to recover as a former recluse and socially-stunted adult. Need some professional help, but don't really know where to get it. Past experiences have left me feeling like the whole profession is a scam though. Pay around $300 a session for them to tell you to take a walk and look at the trees.

I’m looking to get a 5k PB and was wondering if any Brisbane-based runners had good ideas of where would be a good place to do it. I’m thinking probably Sandgate, but wondered if anyone else had ideas.
