Feddit.uk went down for a bit and no one knows why. We're seemingly back now though.

There is only one fully privileged admin (the original owner), and they're not super present. We have two other admins but they're restricted in what they can do (don't have access to the server itself I think?, can't upgrade).

A couple of users are setting up a new UK lemmy instance in response to this situation. One of those users is very keen for it to be a replacement, hence the posts. Not everyone is on board with it though. It's been put in hold while they iron some things out.

It's not an "official" replacement for feddit.uk in that sense, but it's another UK instance.

I've seen them called digital gardens, because they like something you maintain and let grow with no specific purpose.

I've been saying this for months. He strikes me as not being in it for his party, his country nor his political legacy. He's doing everything for himself and his business connections.

Sometimes hearing other peoples opinions can spoil something for you. I'm kind of glad I've never found any online communities based around Xanth now, because that's never even crossed my mind, and I'm sure there are many others that would do the same, where it's just some fun, silly story books from my childhood for now.

I remember the character, but I mostly read ones that happened after him (the series spans multiple generations).

I think his name began with a B. I may try to dig through them and find the name of the book.

I came here to say both of these for the same reasons.

I read them both after reading some people saying they changed their lives on reddit. Siddhartha had some effect on my I still can't pin down, bit changed how I looked at my life.

Im still reeling. By far one of my faves.

Hi,

Are there any active communities for home gym, weightlifting or strongman?

Attempting a cross post with this, I dont know if I did it right.

Hi,

Does anyone know of any active weightlifting, strongman or home gym communities?

I need some advice on my routine.

Thanks!

I've only just started paying attention the what the numbers mean in the last year or so.

I remember it being 40kph last year and watching it out the window waiting for something to happen, but nothing did.

Now I've seen as high as 47mph on Beeb Weather and a weather warning, so this should be like 60 to 70kph winds, almost double last time.

Can I expect my neighbours furniture to go flying or a bin to roll down the road or something this time?

What turned you in a little grump gills, huh?

How's it going everyone?

I'm on day two of a migraine, skipping my day festival in leui of painkillers and chill TV watching/game playing.

Who's having a roast today then?

I can't remember where I found out about Fenenc, but it's surprised me by how slick it feels compared to all the other Lemmy apps I've.

Everything loads so fast and the scrolling has zero jitter. The other apps I've tried just dont compare for speed.

The up/down vote percentage is a nice touch I havent seen anywhere else.

My only gripe is that changing feed type/sorting method feel unintuitive to me, but its not a major issue.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and give some support. I'll be using Fennec a lot more going forward and hope you keep it up.

It was also nice to see its written in React Native so I might drop in a PR.
