@TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world I actually just added a gazebo in the form of an Mbin account for this one yes. Edited that because ironic Alex Jones vibe seemed off
sordid
@TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world No, but https://procial.tchncs.de is. I hang out on tchncs to help target The Weapon
This is what any microblog instance looks like when it's being forced into an unholy matrimony with Lemmy. Mastodon looks just like this. https://fedidb.org/software/FireFish is the most advanced ActivityPub featureset available. The only complements it needs are https://fedidb.org/software/Funkwhale and https://fedidb.org/software/Bookwyrm
The translation feature in particular makes it superior even for browsing Lemmy. But also none of you bother to provide alt-text image descriptions for people who have sight and sensory issues, while Mastodon & Misskey forks passively promote its use allowing the blind to interact with the web through our aggregation. The user tags here don't cause any functional issue other than increasing character count. Lemmy posts on instance 1 already create a situation where a reply from instance 2 with a reply from instance 3 won't show the third reply on instance 1. All of our software is shit, but at least it's good shit. Anyways, your nonsense about this obviously superior software aside, let's reply to your trashy analysis of current events.
@mlg@lemmy.world @worldnews@lemmy.ml
I have no idea why you're so invested in the conjectures you've based off reading reports from the Zionists that this attack was successfully fended off and they took no serious damage, because the attack didn't fit some arbitrary guideline.
War isn't about pleasing spectators online, as the Ukrainians have been taught so painfully over the past few years.
Zionists spent over a billion dollars fending off Iran's "wasteful" use of drones. The attack cost Iran something in the millions.
They essentially launched a mass of chaff to break the AA and issued a warning strike.
Let me quote an infamous one-trick pony commentator:
Nevatim was defended by the world’s most advanced integrated anti-missile defense shield which incorporated Arrow 2, David’s Sling, THAAD, and Patriot 3 with the AN/TPY-2 X-band surveillance and targeting radar. You also ignore the fact that this system was designed to exclusively defend against the Iranian medium-range ballistic missile threat.
And yet…5-7 missiles hit Nevatim. The Israelis have acknowledged 2 runways and three warehouse structures hit.
Not a knockout blow—it wasn’t intended as such.
But any BDA expert would note that the point of impact was center mass, a clear indication of precision guidance.
5-7 missiles hit the world’s most heavily defended location, defeating an integrated ABM defense that was custom built to defeat the missiles it failed to shoot down.
I guess I am supposed to trust your intuition that the Iranians are lying about getting more out of this attack than they expected because,,, why? They're biased?
Ugh federation is fucking up my replies again.
You're the fucking moron coming up with depressing fanfiction based off vague headline recollections. Did you even see Iran got hits with basic ballistic missiles that reach hypersonic velocities towards the end of their flight path? Conventional weapons this magic air defense is supposed to work on.
Why don't you calm down with your Game of Thrones brain shit about how Ansarallah and Qassam Brigades and Hezbollah and Syria and Iran are all divided because they didn't escalate the way you think they should. Why don't you go play HOI4 or Warhammer, you illiterate churl?
more defeatism and crap about how the resistance is pathetic except for a random redeeming quality. fine, let's have a serious discussion after you spend a few more days doing pessimistic media criticism! seriously, let's go. i'm all for it. i may act like a bit of a dick but it's to make my disagreement unambiguous and avoid misunderstandings in the end
i would simply not be emotionally invested in the powerlessness and ineffectuality of the resistance to the point i start uncritically consuming western media at the moment it is least likely to tell the truth
all the reports are saying
are you kidding me dude? oh wait this is dot world. makes sense, this could be a reddit comment it sucks that much.
did you hear about Yemen laying waste to Eilat or expanding their blockade into the Indian Ocean?? probably not.
just got finished talking with an Israeli arguing they are both "made invincible by the IDF" and "harmed" by fear of "Iranian joke rockets". air defense isn't magic, the good systems we have just spam $2M rockets over and over at $2000 drones
Now Israel gets a greenlight for its genocide
they already have it
the USA comes to the rescue to finish the job
they're already there
@Drusas@kbin.run It was an honest question. Oh nice I have one of those, been using it like that anyways. Didn't know what it was
@dukethorion@lemmy.world I really don't know, so this is just idle speculation, but I wonder if seeing bodies come out of the sand all fucked up made people want to be preserved, but with dignity, rather than be a desiccated corpse, lost in the sand or rotting
Good plug if so! I had not heard of it. It is right up my alley.
(reposting because it's not visible on the community i mentioned the post in unless i reply like this)
@criitz@reddthat.com @worldnews@lemmy.ml I'm gonna start by debunking the myth that Israel is invulnerable because they have nuclear weapons. Since they have so many conventional precision weapons pointed at Israel, without nuclear weapons Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran are still able to take out strategic targets: missile launchers, AA weapons, radar, runways, facilities in important bases, etc. In addition to this, they can use the strategy even against protected locations like these powerplants striking them with barrages that first use a bunch of cheap projectiles like drones to break the air defense then get a bunch of conventional strikes through depriving Israel of electricity. They can also do this to other facilities like water treatment, forcing military logistics to shift to providing food and water for civilians. note that none of this has the domestic and international consequences of using nuclear weapons. Now something to know about Israel is that they're not able to do without these amenities and they require extremely high morale to be willing to fight since they live in a giant strip mall.
