Never heard of it. Surprised there are any apps still going after the API pricing change.

More fun and hobby related stuff. Lemmy is depressing and hateful AF. Feels like most of the people here are afflicted by "Politics as a Personality". At least on Reddit it is pretty easy to avoid that by only subbing to hobby subs but most of those are dead on Lemmy. I switched to using mostly Reddit on my PC again and just using Lemmy on my phone since there is no good mobile reddit app anymore.

I would think free time is still more valuable in most cases.

Intentionally living farther away from your job doesn't sound like such an appealing thing though because you are still wasting however much of your day having to drive to work. Like sure you get paid more but the pay is hardly ever worth more than the extra free time.

Nope, my phone is 5 years old and it is nice to be able to wait for the latest release to get something brand new instead of a year or two old.

The problem is almost always with our society and not the technology itself. AI is fine, the way people are using it and the fact that people need jobs to exist in society isn't.

Duck duck go is practically broken. I switched to startpage which worked alright until I got a VPN, then I just started using bing with better results. So it is somehow worse than bing even. Duck ignores my quotes and minuses and such things.

It is a difficult meme template but when done right the payoff is hilarious. But yeah.

I do occasionally get sausage from my CSA, so that is something to use it for at least.

I have a tiny fridge so I need something I can put in my chest freezer and microwave portions of it to put in a thermos. I'm hoping for minimal prep work, though I have a Vitamix if that helps. I already eat the same thing every day, that I buy from work for 6 dollars. Not ideal. I'm thinking I can bring the soup and some crackers or something.

All the time I have people come in to work wearing a mask, which is fine normally, good for them, but they are wearing them on their chin, chin diaper style. Not covering up anything. Or at best just their mouth, sometimes. Nobody is making these people wear a mask anymore, so why are they doing it at all if they are just going to do it wrong? Is it an attempt at a political statement? A lack of education? I end up baffled for a while every time I see one of these people.

Using a Pixel 3, was mainly accessing beehaw through the PWA but deleted that to install firefox and now cannot access the site at all. Not sure if I had the issue before deleting the app or not. Any ideas? On Android 12, tried clearing site data and the caches for chrome and firefox.

Edit: Nevermind, it just randomly started working just now.

I miss those so much. Any modern games still playing with this concept? I remember Half Life had the bathroom, kitchen, and office, and I remember a backyard one in Quake 3 that was really cool.

Sometimes I want to go out, but I don't want to have to interact with people, and feel bad for ignoring them. Often I can't even bring myself to open my front door because there are always people doing stuff in my apartment's parking lot. I never feel able to get to know my neighbors because most of the time they are gone in a few months. Only one person here now was living here when I moved in.

I've got pretty bad social anxiety, though it is a lot better than it used to be. If I go to any local park there are bound to be lots of people there. I love to do outdoorsy stuff but even then I find it hard to find a place where I can really be alone. The state parks always seem to be pretty packed and are an hour away, or two during rush hour.

I really want to find a place where I don't feel like I could be being watched. I have what I feel like is kind of a dumb dream, to find some nook nestled between a bunch of buildings or whatever. A place that is vaugely hard to get into with some grass or something to sit down in and enjoy. Something that would be very unlikely for anyone else to find.

I did actually find a place like this once but eventually it became semi-regularly occupied by houseless people and filled with trash, broken glass, drug supplies...truthfully I'm afraid to go there. And ever since there was a large fire started there the landowner set up an alarm and cameras pointing into the area that only works some of the time. If it isn't people I'm afraid to run into it is that the ear-piercing alarm may be fixed this time. I fear any private space I find will be like this. And I get it, people have to live somewhere...it makes me feel like I'm invading someone's home though.

Maybe I need to find an apartment with fenced in little areas behind each unit. I have a friend with a patio setup like that and it is great.
