That is what i am doing for !tmobileisp@lemmy.ml. tmobile is a US carrier and my instance is Canadian so its a bit odd to host it here

The community likely already exists and has been deleted by its creator. The creators account may also be deleted. Try yourinstance.tld/c/communityname to see if anything comes up. If so you may need to message your server admins from the sidebar

Google glass was my thought too. It was just way ahead of its time, but google absolutely had the right idea

I think it needs to be a set of glasses and we need better battery tech before that can really happen. Solid state batteries will be needed since their energy density is so much higher. As a low vision user i can think of an immediate use as a magnification device. Actual magnifiers dont work well for me but software magnification does. Therefore i could magnify my surroundings to read signs, etc.

Same. While i have had this account for over a year i am just now really diving into it. I have been a mastodon user for years but just never had a reason to come and really kick the tires on lemmy

Preaching to the choir, but sing it. I am getting my money out of the dollar just as fast as i can so when the ship sinks i wont go down with it. I will give away my dollars while some other poor sap still values them. I can take out small dollar based loans against my crypto too because it will be easier to pay back the loan in the future thanks to inflation devaluing the dollar.

Edit: spelling

This is so sad. These people know what its like to not trust their governmyth. A lesson that a lot of people in "stable" countries would do well to learn before its to late

Putting keepass and syncthing together is a match made in heaven

The SEC is nothing but a bully who is being told by higher ups to help stop crypto since governmyth cant control it. News flash, crypto is here to stay and governmyths will fail as always.

Odd, changing it and clicking save worked for me

Due to lemmys focus on communities instead of individuals it seems like some level of centralization is going to occur or already has. As an example !privacy@lemmy.ml is going to be a way more active community than !privacy@somerandomserver.org. now if i run a terrible server called terribleserver.net and lemmy.ml bans it as they should then nobody on terribleserver.net will be able to interact with the largest communities such as !privacy, !technology, etc. Other servers may have their own versions of these but they will most likely be rarely used. Mind, i doubt lemmy.ml's mods would do this, but a rogue mod could really break things by just banning other instances for no reason. I have been on mastodon for years but am decently new to lemmy so if i am misunderstanding this please correct me
